At the 2007 Tokyo Game Show, SNK Playmore USA announced the following games:
The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga
SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1
Samurai Showdown Anthology
So, coming from SNK USA is that a guarantee we're getting the game? If this is true, the PS2 sure is bowing out with an awful lot of excellent fighters.

Im sure it will come out, the question is when? SNK Playmore is not exactly known in the US for timely releases.

Seems possible, there was a JP release of Twinkle Star Sprites on the PS2 that included an updated version along with the original so the port is more or less done, it just needs to be translated.

Given that SNK started their releases here with Art of Fighting Anthology, then moved on to better games, I'm sure that basically any collection that's produced will get released here. My guess for the SNK Classics is a few pre-Neo games. They did a couple dozen games from 1979 until they released the Neo, so there's plenty of possibilities such as Athena, Pshyco Soldier, the Ikari Warriors games and POW.
