I'm looking for some 2 player cooperative games so that my wife can play at the same time.
Any Balder Gate, Gauntlet, D&D ones that are good on the PS2?
Thanks

Loads. There are some good threads that have already been brought up on this that I would encourage you to look through.
If you're into Baldur's Gate style playing, then I'd suggest:
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Champions of Norrath
Champions: Return to Arms
and if you can stand the load times:
X-Men Legends
X-Men Legends II
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

The Red Star is a sweet co-op game. Part beat em up part shoot em up.

both of the baldurs gate games were great fun, i spent a lot of time on those co-op. and the nice thing is you can continue on with your main character then just load him back in with your co-op buddy/partner when they are ready to play again.

Contra: Shattered Soldier and NEO Contra come to mind. Also, the Sega genesis collection has a few old school 2 player co-op games.

I also recommend METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY for arcade-y 2-D mayhem. My female friends really enjoy the TAIKO DRUM game bundle, but I'm not sure you want to spare the expense for 2 to 4 controllers.

I mentioned this in past threads of a similar topic, but a CAG long ago recommended The Adventure of Cookie & Cream. It's not D&D or a Baldur's Gate game, but it's a cutesy cooperative puzzle/platformer that's good for couples, since both people have to share the same controller. I played it with my fiance and thought it was pretty decent.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Lego Star Wars yet. I played through both of them co-op and they were a lot of fun. It doesn't look like the Complete Saga edition is coming to PS2, so I'd recommend the Original Trilogy version unless you want to pick up both.

Thanks for the tips guys!
I'm going to pick up Champions of Norath and Champions: Return.
Already played both Balders Gate on Xbox.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but We Love Katamari has co-op, where two people roll the same katamari at the same time (yes, it can be tricky).

The Adventure of Cookie & Cream
You and a partner are suppose to play using one controller at the same time. It seems like a good game for couples since you're pretty much sitting in each other's laps as you play.
Dynasty or Samurai Warriors.

Here, here on Cookie & Cream. I picked up a cheap copy on ebay during the last thread and have found it is the definition of co-op.
It'll try your patience for the other player, that's for sure.
Also, we need to create a sticky with PS2 co-op games considering the threads that have been brought up recently.

For Champions of Norrath, can the game be saved for BOTH players on one memory card?
Also, couldn't find any copies of the game at BB.

One memory card, but it can use a lot of memory very quickly unless you are careful.

Cookies & Cream is definitely a scrumptious time.
I've always wanted to pick up Destroy All Humans 2 as well.
I find a great alternative to co-op games is a game like Jak and Daxter or Ratchet since you have infinite lives you can die and hand off the controller to your significant other.
Horror games are also good since some people love to watch them but cannot play them.

No mention of Alien Hominid? Shame! Shame! AH's co-op was fantastic. I believe Viewtiful Joe 2 had co-op as well.
Don't go for Return of the King, though. Very bland hack-and-slash. The only thing remarkable about it is just how horrible unclear what the hell you're supposed to do is (Hint: fast-moving balls of light can destroy siege towers).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Warriors. The camera can be frustrating, but it's handled about as well as it could be without forcing you to be in the exact same spot constantly. Plus, the story is good (what I've seen of it anyway) and it can probably be obtained pretty cheap now.

I'm not suprised that no one has mentioned Hunter the Reconing: Wayward. It got trash reviews, IIRC, but I like it a lot. You pick different characters to battle the undead and w/e else. There's melee and range weapons, and an RPG element to it as well. You can prob get it dirt cheap. Me and my friends used to spend a whole lot of time swapping controllers and playing as the dif characters. Oh yeah, and also, LOTR Return of The King has a co-op mode as well. Though personally, I like the Two Towers a whole lot better. Sadly, thats only 1 player.
Here's one: Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. My girlfriend loved that game. I think it helped that it had puzzle chests, too, but it's overall a really good game, co-op or solo.

The TMNT games are alright. Or at least the 2nd and 3rd ones since you can unlock the old arcarde games. It's worth it just for that reason.

Hi,
I've played quite a few co-op games with the SO. The Norraths are great, as well as the Baldur Gates. Fallout Brotherhood of Steel was OK too, until the ridiculous end where you apparently need to kill the same brain boss a million times just to get to the next boss. Suffice to say we stopped playing at that point. But it was still fun, up until that point...
We've also enjoyed shooters like Star Wars Battlefront I & II, split screen works well and it's something different from hack n' slash. I also tried Dynasty Warriors 4, although I loved the game she didn't like it. Another co-op game you may find interesting is called Obscure - it's the survival horror-genre. It didn't get awesome reviews, but we found it fun.
Here are two pages I found a while ago, it has some other suggestions:
