Hey everyone, recently I was looking around to get another bass guitar after my old one started spazzing out. I was just looking at electric ones but then I thought about A/E ones because then it wouldn't be as loud and I could play without lugging around a amp.

So I was looking at this Dean Playmate EAB Bass. (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Dean-Playmate-EAB-AcousticElectric-Bass?sku=519943)

I was just wondering if anyone had experiances with these kinds of basses. I play in a band that plays more heavy rock or funky stuff. But I also like playing quieter songs by myself. So I thought maybe this would be a good comprimise. The most important thing is how well do these basses sound plugged in?

Thanks for your input.

i wonder what the quality is like at that price point, i bet a similarly priced electric would be better comparatively

i bought my p-bass knockoff from these guys and it works well enough, the action is a little high though

For heavier rock or funky stuff I doubt it'll give you the tone you really want. For unplugged or acoustic stuff it'd be great.

Get an electric!

Yeah that is what I was wondering, I am kinda in hard spot because I have a horrible amp and I can't really crank the volume up to make it sound good so I am not sure what to do.
