My brother, who works at EB, said that it's selling like "hotcakes". I went in the other day and they only had like four left on PS2.

It sells out the same day each time my EB gets a new shipment. I also hope Sega sees a nice profit from this.
I hope Sega fixes the goddamn bugs already. That's what I hope.

When do the NPD numbers come out? If they are through the roof EA is going to go URRRNK.

It's about time Sega makes a profit on the 2k series, they make some of the best games and always get walked on by the damn mainstream!

Sega took a big chance with this product. I hope they do well.
I'll give the game a chance soon!

MyWal-Mart got in 32 ps2 copies and we were down to about 8 in a matter of the last week. I'm sure we'll be sold out relatively soon.
We didn't get any XBox copies in because the shipment is at the new store which opens August 25th (we will be only the second Wal-Mart super center in CT, located in Wallingford) but im sure if those copies were here they would sell like hotcakes as well.
Looks like the $20 price point is working well for Sega, just hope they don't bump it back to $50 next year, and instead keep it this way ot even charge $29.99 instead.
I'm happy Sega is getting the sales they deserve... finally! :D

I really hope Madden doesnt sell this year. To me, all the versions are the same. One you bought one Madden, you own them all.

I was able to get it at BB with the GGC for $14.99. This game is easily worth $50, but hey, I'm not complaining!

Yeah, they say Madden this year is about the same as last. Sept. issue of OXM reviews them both, and gives the edge to ESPN over Madden!!! 9.3/10 to 9.1/10 ESPN NFL 2k5 wins!!!!

Yeah....it's been said before, I'm sure, but let's hope this starts a trend of $19.99 quality games.

You won't see NPD numbers for at least 5 weeks, if then.

I know a lot of people that bought it as well as my local EB selling them pretty fast by the way they get running to the back and bringing more to the front.
This quote was taken from an article (regarding NBA 2K5's new coverboy) today:
"ESPN Videogames' ESPN NFL 2K5 has already sold over one-million copies due in large part to its reduced price point of $19.99 which will also extend to ESPN NBA 2K5 and ESPN NHL 2K5. "
So if they sold 350,000 last year, and over one-million so far this year, they have tripled their sales already

Nice. That means in a sense to equal the amount of copies sold last they wold be selling at $60 or so, so they are making a better profit, and there are still many weeks left for copies to be sold.
Real nice.

Anybody know the sale figures on NFL2k5... like how many sold so far ? wondering how its doing considering the 19.99 price tag...
hopefully sega actually makes some profit...
Remember.. for them to make the same amount of gross profit as they did last year.. they'll have to sell 2 1/2 times as many units. And that's just to break even with last year, not to do better.

Don't forget that there is also the printing and distribution cost that's incurred by multiplying the numbers of copies sold, so they would need to probably go between 2.66 and 3.00 to make the same gross profit, and that doesn't include the addition of Global Star in the publishing path, so once they get their cut, maybe even 3.5x the number of copies sold last year.

If those numbers are right, then that might be happening. Seems so unbelievable that the strategy would ever work..

The game is well worth the $19.99 price, I would have even paid more for it.

I hope Sega does well they really need a few hits under their belt.
I wouldn't be surprized if next year EA also drops their sports titles to $20.
I really wish all sports games would droped to $20, I mean really what other game series has you buying a new game every year? How many people really go out and by last years or two year old sports games? Sports fans want the most up-to-date games. Thats why they buy a new one every year. Most of the time all that is updated are the players, in the end its the same game that you got last year and the year before that.
I'm not a big sports fan, But I feel better paying $20 a year then $50 a year for a sports game.
