Within the house of 1UP, editors have been playing through what we once thought was the finalized review code for Electronic Arts' original co-op IP, Army of Two (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3150182). Turns out that's not true; EA has announced today Army of Two will be miss its November release date, giving the team a few extra months of polish before the game's actually released in early 2008.

"Game quality is our top priority. Army of Two has potential to become a lasting EA franchise -- so getting the first title right is essential," said President of the EA Games Label. "The team at EA Montreal thinks that more time for polish will make the game truly great. We're going to trust the team and give Army of Two a few more months in the studio. Army of Two will ship in first quarter of calendar 08."
For more details on Army of Two's delay, check out our interview with Executive Producer Alan Tascan (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163863).
Another game I'd have liked to play.

A surprising move considering it's EA. Good news though. Waiting longer for a more refined game is fine.

Oh well, I 'm sure the extra few months will make it a better game!

If they sent "final code" to EGM I doubt EA will tinker with it very much in a few months. This game was due for failure anyway so this is a good move, pushing it back. I'm just not sure if they realized how it wasn't fitting into the release schedule and put it on the back burner until febuary, or it actually had issues that needed resolving.

Given it's EA and their bottom line style decision making, I'd guess it was just shelved to be released later on.

Thank god. One less game I have to get on Nov. 13th. Now it's just Assassin's Creed, Smackdown vs. Raw and Soldier of Fortune.

Anyone else think it must have really sucked for EA to delay it.

Have some interest in it, but wasn't going to get it at release anyways so no big deal :-P

I'm actually surprised by this. I know several mags kept pushing it pretty hard. Oh well.

Sure, because it's not like people haven't played it yet and said it was fun.

I wish all these games would just come out. That way, by the time I have time to play them, they'll be cheap enough I can also afford them.
