After the green Xbox did so well do you think Sony is going to release a litmited edition PS2 in America? Japan has 5 different colors and Europe has 3. Any talks for X-mas?

I don't think the US market has ever really shown itself to be up for buying multiple versions of the same console. Granted, this is mostly marketing research, so who know what would happen in the real world?

those werent released in the US, anybody can buy it off the website.
If they were released in US stores and people in other nations had to buy them off the website, then it would be a US Limited Edition

Both the green Xbox and the platinum Gamecube were very popular, so you would think that Sony would make their alternate colors of the PS2 more widely available.

Those aren't worth the extra $50. We need one that doesn't charge people that much for a colored shell.

But Sony already makes a limited edition PS2. There will only be 40 million and no more. The other 300 million people in the North american market will just be out of luck after that. They'll have to settle for the anticipated PStwo.
The whole reason for limited edition consoles is to get more sales, and sony gets enough sales already so they don't need to release ones with a new color.

I think sony will release a redesigned ps2 in mid 2005 for 99.99-129.99
Like they did with the ps1.
