Im looking for the best place to buy guitar hero 3 (Xbox360 version) bundle, or game only.
Also looking for any coupons to use in store on it.
If there are any good online deals that ship to canada please post them too.

Thanks

best buy has guitar hero II bundle for 129.99 and it comes with game only guitar hero III so for 129.99 you get GHII, GHIII and an Xplorer Guitar

Well i already have the GH2 xplorer guitar so thats why im leaning towards game only. Im gonna have 2 guitars when i get the rock band bundle so three would be a waste.
I think im gonna go to eb and try to use the 10% off coupon that was posted on the main video games deals forum.

Bundle only, so the disk only copies wouldn't include them. Also, FS has a Friends and Family sale tomorrow night, so if they still have copies it will be $99.99 with the Guitar Stand

Rock Band guitars work for GH? No proprietary peripherals?

Rock Band guitars do NOT work with Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero guitars DO work with Rock Band

they work but they wont have all of the fret buttons (rockband has 10)
you can use a GHII/III guitar for rockband but you wont have access to all the features

EB coupons from the States don't work in Canada.

damn thats bad news...
Has anyone tried the coupon in canada and been told it was only for the states?
And about the guitar compatibility issue, it would be stupid if they didn't release a game update which makes all the guitars compatible with all the games. I dont care if someone im playing with uses the old xplorer as a bass in rock band(plus I painted mine black and gold and it looks badass).
I guess the best deal i can get now is getting my friend to buy it for me using his status card 12:00 today:bouncy:.

Anyone know how much the GHIII bundle is at Blockbuster? I'm considering trading in Amped 3, Forza 2, and NCAA Football 07 and then paying the difference. Unless, of course, they give good trade-in-values for DS and PS2 games.

Guitar Hero 3 Sightings and pricing for those who want the best deal (these are from St. Catharines locations):

1. Best Buy $99.99 for 360, $89.99 Wii/PS2- displayed ALL versions including Wii

2. Wal-Mart - 100+ PS2 versions at $78 :hot: and around 15-20 360 at $88 :hot:
BEST PRICE OUT THERE, cheaper than US pricing (there are reports that the guitars with the Wal-Mart bundles are last year's model, I'll have to go back and check that because that may explain why the games are $10 cheaper than everywhere else...try PMing BB though for a better deal ...EVEN BETTER....PM FutureShop who has the game for $109 for $2 in savings)

3. EB - had them, but in the back, they had to have had 360 and PS2

4. RCSuperstore - only had PS2 on display......but they had Wiis

It is true about the Wal-Mart price and guitars, I have in my hands a 360 X-Plorer GH3 bundle.

It is $10 cheaper but I still would rather have wireless for $10 more so I am picking up a bundle at Best Buy for $99.99 (attempting to PM too :D). I wish Wal-Mart would have at least had a mix of both. The $88 old model guitar bundles for people who want save money AND the $98 new model guitar bundles for people who want wireless like me. Wal-Mart is the only store in my town that sells games too.

I feel bad for the family member who got up at 7:30 AM just to pick it up for me :(

About Blockbuster, in the flyer it was $99.99 for PS2 and $109.99 for the rest. If I remember right though they have lowered those prices to $94.99 for PS2 and $104.99 for the rest. I'm not 100% sure about those prices though.

Yes, all Wal-Marts (AFAIK) only have XPLORER guitar bundles, hence the $88 price.

Just got mine from Futureshop. Funny how the young adults tried to get an organized line going, while the soccer moms and parents just shoved everyone.

Why am I typing this instead of playing? Because the game won't friggin update. I cry :(

Future Shop's Friends and Family sale starts at 5:00 PM EST today and all video games and accessories are 10% off.

http://www.futureshop.ca/marketing/friendsandfamily/Default.asp?langid=EN&CMP=EMC-email_special_promo

$109.99 with the free guitar stand minus 10% off = $98.99

Sale is online only though.

Good price but the online store only has 30 left, probably a few people will order before the sale leaving ~20-25 left, and expect those to go FAST

if a futureshop sale is online only just order it for in-store pick-up lol I do that all the time

Just got back from Rogers Video
the Les Paul Wireless 360 Bundle is $99.99

The whole Wal-Mart deal with having last year's guitars is kinda funny...since the Wal-Mart I went to had OVER 100 PS2 versions of the bundle.

Kekumba
10-28-2007, 04:23 PM
Well wtf is all I have to say.. first of all, I went to two Blockbuster's, one said they have no idea when the bundles would come in, the other said they will never have bundles for sale. Okay, fuck you, Blockbuster. EB Games.. EB Games for crying out loud.. pre-order stuff only. It's to the point where I don't exactly care anymore and am willing to buy it for $99 anyway. Ah well.

FS should have just sold it as MSRP (I'm guessing that's $100). Too much time wasted with people trying to PM Best Buy :\

Okay, yeah, so after some phone calls, I've come to the conclusion that every single store in Ottawa is sold out. Great.

Maybe, but for some reason people half-ass customer support through phone calls. Maybe if you were there in person they'd have one lying around.

Looks like Guelph is all tapped out.
I'm tempted to buy the game only and just wait for the guitar to come out... but I remember that it took the better part of a year for the X-plorer to show up in stores. Gah.

Isn't the 360 the same wireless Les Paul guitar? If so, then what's wrong with it?

Curious as to whether anyone's seen the PS2 version (disc-only) for less than $60.

I find that a pretty tough price to stomach, with a lot of games coming here at par, never mind being a last-gen title at "full price."

I'd buy the 360 version, but I've already got two SG controllers... and while I am buying Rock Band, I don't want to have to buy a second GH controller if I want to play GH3 with someone else.

Since you're buying rock band won't you soon enough have two playable controllers for the 360 version anyways?

Rock Band guitar won't work with Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero controller will allegedly work with Rock Band, but there's been some question about that, because of how Red Octane is trying to lock other peripherals out of GH. Nevertheless, I'm more worried about being able to play 2P Guitar Hero... since I'll have drums, etc. for Rock Band.

 Don't worry about it. Hopefully your pre-order's still there since I personally feel that the 360 version is the most bang for your buck. You've got the downloadable content, achievements if you care, and the better online community on Xbox LIVE. Go with it and have fun!

I don't know if anyone else cares, but my wife picked me up GH3 at Wal-Mart for $50 (PS2 version, disc only). I'm not a huge Wal-Mart fan, but they'll see a lot of business from me this winter if they continue to lead the way on game prices -- if I can save $10 on a new release game, I will.

Any sighting of the Wii version around the GTA? Toronto is tapped out of everything outside of PS2 singles, and bundles. At least as far as I can tell. Most stores are saying check in again on Saturday.

On a side note; I hate retail customer service on the phone. As soon as my question is answered it's an immediate hang up. My thank yous are so under appreciated. @_@

EvilMario, on an unsuccessful trek down Yonge St. yesterday trying to find a wireless 360 bundle, I did find one place that had multiple copies of the Wii bundle still available (and ps2 and 360 wired bundles, not sure about wireless ps3). It's called Game Zone and it is right on Yonge, on the east side, a block or two south of Bloor. http://maps.google.ca/maps?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enCA238CA238&um=1&q=game+zone&near=Toronto,+ON&fb=1&view=text&latlng=43666226,-79385107,7821325964811202184

If anyone spots a copy of the wireless 360 bundle, let me know.

I know only too well where Game Zone is. It's not shocking that they had Wii Guitar Hero bundles in. Maybe because, they're trying to land a sweet $125.00 for them when the MSRP is $89.99.

Supply and demand, I guess.

Ugh! What a pain. I'm still trying to track down a wireless 360 bundle without much luck. For some reason I thought they weren't going to have a wireless bundle for the 360 so I didn't bother pre-ordering. Hopefully I don't have any problems with my Rock Band pre-order at EB.

Indeed, I thought PS3 was exclusively receiving wireless, but I guess Microsoft is finally allowing 3rd party wireless accessories without a fuss.

And of course, as part of the trouble finding a Wii version.. I'm trying to find it at shops where I can trade a few games in. So, no WalMart, Best Buy, Futureshop.. although I have checked a few of them just to see, and they're sold out too.

Maybe once Rock Band comes out people will blink, and we'll be able to nab a copy. ;)
