View Full Version : Ikaruga sell now or hold on?
I've had Ikaruga for like 4 years now, and always though it would go up in value, and now it is. I was wondering if I should continue to hold onto it or sell it now? Do you think it will go up in value? I know its coming out on XBLA but thats not the same as having a hard copy.

If I had it I'd sell it the same day. I have no interest in whatsoever.

Ya only GC. :wall: I wonder if the XBL will turn out as well as the GC version.

I'd sell it before it gets too known that it will be on XBL. I'm inclined to think that it will go down in value after being released on 360.

What happened when Valkyrie Profile hit the PSP, the PS1 version went UP. Its settled back down, but in general it seems that the rule is that remakes on other systems dont affect the original. Think how many times the SNES Final Fantasys have been remade.
Ikaruga is sitting at like 50 now high end(Amazon) In the neighborhood of late November, I could see it as maybe 60-65 if you're lucky.

I decided to sell mine on Ebay, and I got less than what I normally would've gotten a few months ago, so I say sell it while u can still get around $35 for it.

What if you have the little Atari stickers that came with it?
I have those.
I dunno I don't absolutely need the money, and its a good game and I could see myself selling it later in 5 years.

I'd say sell it now while you can, because chances are when the XBLA version comes out, everyone and their dog will own the game and only real collectors will want the original.

I don't think that the XBLA version will have a big effect on the prices. Maybe if Ikaruga was for the Xbox and you had that version, but since it's not I don't see it really losing that much value.

There will still be a market for it even after it's released on XBLA. As others have mentioned, a port will likely not drop its price much. I'm holding out on it and keep in mind not everyone has an Xbox360 and will want to play the game on their GC/Wii.
If it is reprinted at a cheaper price, like $20 new, by GameQuestDirect, then SELL SELL SELL as that company is a sure barometer to gauge, as reprints do crash values (see Persona 2, Rhapsody, etc.) But it's not currently on GQD's radar so we should be safe.

Keep it, play it and enjoy it. If you ever need the money you can sell it later.
