View Full Version : [UPDATE: Black Friday milk deals?] I just bought some milk
djkunai

from the store.
QUESTION:
Think I wasted my money?
It was just to replace the milk I had which expired, and this could expire too but I paid a reasonable price for it. If it expires before the expiration date I'll never buy milk from that store again. Checked their online reviews and it was at 4 1/2 stars, a few 1s and some 3s. But all 5s in the last 30 days.
::edit::
Apparently milk has been delayed. I'm not sure why I was able to get the milk I bought. It may have been a demo milk that the company was supposed to put on display, but for whatever reason they sold it to me.
::re-edit::
I lost my receipt, but I want to return the milk. I've also listed the milk in my tradelist, in case anyone offers something good.
::re-edit 2::
Milk is now for trade.
::ao edit::
Milk has been given an "Adults Only" rating.

The most awesome Milk reviews are located here:
Amazon : Tuscan Whole Milk (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B00032G1S0/ref=cm_rev_sort/103-1718888-5147037?customer-reviews.sort_by=-HelpfulVotes&s=gourmet-food&x=9&y=13)
A few Samples:
I purchased Tuscan Milk for only 2.59 after casting Level 3 Haggle. It is a container full of milk and weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces.
After drinking the milk, not only was my Thirst completely rejuvenated and my Hunger decreased by 2 points, my prime stats were temporarily increased as follows:
+25 CON +12 DEX +18 STR +2 MAG for +6 Hours
+10 Hitroll +12 Damroll for +12 Hours
But the best part was that after drinking the milk, the empty container can be wielded as a weapon!
Tuscan Milk is a Mace/Blunt Object and can be referred to as "MILK TUSCAN JUG"
Damage: 10d6
To Hit: +68%
STR +2 DEX +2 CHA +2
I would definitely recommend Tuscan Milk to other adventurers. Please note that the effects described above are for me, a Level 43 Elf Cleric, and other races/classes may be affected diferently. Milk is not advised for Orcs.
------------------------------------
The exact minute I got my milk, my baby's new face burst into flames. I used the gallon to extinguish my baby. Next time, I'll order 2 gallons. Thank you, milk. Thank YOU!
------------------------------------
One should not be intimidated by Tuscan Whole Milk. Nor should one prejudge, despite the fact that Tuscan is non-vintage and comes in such large containers. Do not be fooled: this is not a jug milk. I always find it important to taste milk using high-quality stemware -- this is milk deserving of something better than a Flintstones plastic tumbler. One should pour just a small dollop and swirl it in the glass -- note the coating and look for clots or discoloration. And the color -- it should be opaque, and very, very white. Now, immerse your nose in the glass and take a whiff. Tuscan transports you instantly to scenic hill towns in central Italy (is that Montepulciano I detect?) --- there is the loamy clay, the green grass of summer days, the towering cypress. And those gentle hints of Italian flowers -- wild orchids, sunflowers, poppies. Then, one takes in the thick liquid and lets it roll across and under the tongue -- what is that? perhaps a hint of a nutty Edam cheese? With Tuscan, you feel the love of every dairyperson involved -- from the somewhat sad and deranged farmhand shovelling steaming cowpies to the bored union milk maiden dreaming of leaving this soul crushing life behind for a job waiting tables for obnoxious American tourists in Siena. But not too fast -- sip gently, slowly, or one is in danger of not only missing the subtleties of the milk's texture and its terroir, but -- if chilled too long -- also of giving oneself a blinding ice cream headache. Nay, savor the goodness that only dairymen and dairywomen working at the apex of their craft can deliver. Tuscan is best drunk young -- no, no, don't cellar this gem -- I guarantee you'll be sorry if you do. I recommend pairing with freshly baked macadamia nut scones. Milk Expectorator gives this one a 92.

Okay, so milk has apparently been delayed (thanks for the heads up Strell!), but I still managed to get some. Maybe it was a demo milk, it doesn't matter. But now, do I sell the milk on eBay and make a hefty profit (since it's not supposed to be out) or do I open it and enjoy it now with a plate of warm cookies? Keep in mind I'm not a collector, so I plan on opening the milk at some point (or if I sell it I'll pick up milk when it finally is released and open it then).
What do I do?

The farm screwed up my order, putting lots of people's milk on backorder, so I bought my milk at Sureway. I cancelled my milk preorder as soon as I got home, and two days later when I get home from work, I get an e-mail from the farm letting me know that they have shipped my milk with preorder bonus. I tried to tell them I want to return the extra milk, but they charged my Paypal account anyway. And FINALLY, today, I get another e-mail stating they are cancelling the order for the milk they have already shipped out.

See that's what I was going to do, but I figured that the only difference was maybe the carton would have better graphics, since the formula is exactly the same as last year. Then I was like, wait, I actually CARE about better graphics. So now I'm stuck with milk that will be clearanced in two months. If I trade it in, I know the store will make money because some kid will bitch to mommy how "I have to HAVE that MILK MOMMY!!!!" and she'll end up buying it used for 10% savings and 40% profit for the store. Okay apparently milk has become "AO" due to a leaked picture of a stage of milk in pre-production.
http://www.nctc.net/counties/cow2/hereford_cow.jpg
Such inappropriate material has raised interest in many activists. Parents are outraged that their children are able to get ahold of an object with such questionable origin. Most stores have no policy of selling milk directly to minors. Parents are calling this "Warm Milk" as a reference to GTA's notorious "Hot Coffee."

remember the news about the new Harmonix game? well they said its not going to be a guitar based game.
With so many guitar-based games under their belt (Rock Band, Guitar Hero), it would be safe to assume that the next Harmonix title would also feature guitars. It looks like it won't.
According to the Game Developers Conference 2008 session listing, senior designer Chris Foster will talk about making the "other" project, a non-beatmatching game from Harmonix.
In the writeup for the session (https://www.cmpevents.com/GD08/a.asp?option=C&V=11&SessID=6282) titled "Your Music Is the Game: Designing the OTHER Project at Harmonix," it is mentioned that beats would be algorithmically generated, and that this game would lack the dedicated peripherals of other Harmonix titles.
http://www.destructoid.com/harmonix-steps-away-from-the-guitar-to-breathe-51968.phtml
The presenter pries apart the company’s standard beatmatch design, and explores how each element had to evolve, or be discarded, in order to make the new project a success.
Who knows what they're headed towards. I suppose we'll have to wait until the 2008 Game Developers Conference to really know.
well wait no more.. they've revealed the new game.. click the spoiler...

Actually, yes. Its a pretty fun run and jump puzzle game. Harder than hell too. Originally found out about it because of the ridiculous name. It's on the NES as well, but I don't think the US ever had it released.

So you're just taking credit for the bullets' work? Typical. Guns don't kill people, and neither do you, apparently.

Perhaps, but the 'I didn't kill that guy, The bullet knife did' defence wouldn't hold up in court.
Things don't kill people, People kill people -- whether they use bullets, or knives, or bullet knives to do it is up to them.

Absolutely. Which makes me wonder, can a thing use a person to kill someone?
We have to watch out for the milk. It's going to make people freak out and go on a killing spree.
I mean, look at those pictures of missing kids on the side of milk cartons. Are those kids really missing? It's really more like a list of lactose intolerant children who milk has already killed.

Walmart, Target, Costco, Wild Oats Sued For Selling Fake Organic Milk
The Aurora Dairy controversy has spread to the retailers, as lawsuits seeking class-action status have be filed alleging "that Costco Wholesale Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Target Corp., Safeway Inc. and Wild Oats Markets Inc. sold Aurora's milk under their own in-house brand names."
Aurora itself is currently being sued by consumers in 27 states (http://consumerist.com/consumer/class-actions/organic-principles-regulations-ignored-by-nations-largest-organic-dairy-313235.php)for selling milk labeled "organic" that was not produced in accordance with National Organic Program regulations. Aurora Dairy denies that the milk was non-organic.
"Any lawsuits claiming the milk we were selling was not organic have no merit," a spokesperson told the Associated Press.

Buying cheap licensed milk is the mistake everyone makes...
You buy a milk because of the price, don't enjoy it, then have to go buy some more. Mothers going into Milkstop do it ALL the time.
Ohh.. Spongebob is on this milk... lets get them that.. then BAM! the milk tastes awful and they're out their $3.:bomb:
So they go buy the Barbie branded milk, and that sucks too, and so on and so forth.. until they wasted more than they would have had to on some GOOD milk to begin with. Then what are they left with? Bottles and bottles barely touched spoiled milk nobody wants to drink. On top of that, the crappy milk got purchased, so they make MORE crappy milk -- the cycle doesn't end!
Better to spend the $5 on solid grade AAA Milk to begin with.

Maybe you'll get lucky and a truck full of Oreos will crash in the streets of Liberty City. Virtual Oreos go great with virtual milk liberated from a stolen milk truck.
