My HP Deskjet printer is almost out of ink again. I don't want to keep paying full price for ink. Anyone have any suggestions on a cheaper route than the HP ink carts? Anyone used the refill services at Walgreens or anywhere else? Any good? Thanks guys! I love you! :bouncy:

I know of this place - http://www.inksmile.com/InkCartridge.aspx (used years ago so may not be the cheapest anymore)

My experience with the Walgreens refill service
Used the ink refill at Walgreens twice, and both times had problems. When I picked up my cartridge and went home to use it, my printer said that the cartridge was still empty. Had to bring it back and wait a few days for them to refill it because they said their machine was broken. And guess what, second time I went to get it refilled, same problem occured and again they said the machine was broken and that I would have to come back in a few days.
The cartridge that I use costs about $22 so I would rather pay the extra $5-6 for a brand new cartridge than having to drive back and forth for the hassel.

Anyone have any experiences with buying remanufactured cartridges online?

I buy generic carts off ebay all the time and they are just as good as the original. I'd highly recommend any MFC model brother printer.... The generic ink on ebay costs about $2 a cart. Don't go with HP or Lexmark printers, they are starting to put lockouts on them that don't allow you to use generic carts because of the electronic chips on the bottom.

Try meritline.com or supermediastore.com
I buy remanufactured ink cartridges for my Epson R200 there. I get the full pack of 6 for the price that Best Buy or Circuit City would charge for just one color.

I didn't mind the Walgreens service when I went. I did have to go a little out of my way though (since the two closest stores didn't do refills).
EDIT: Well, if anybody still happens to read this, then I might wanna take back what I wrote. Sometime between the last time I printed, and this time I printed... The black ink seems to have exploded everywhere on the inside of the printer. It doesn't affect the printing quality, but it's gonna annoy me to no end if I don't clean out everything now -_-'

Damn, I just looked at the walgreens site, and they don't support my printer.. Damn Dell 720 printer.. :(
Anyone have any other suggestions? The sites listed in the thread didn't seem to have any good deals. :(

hey, hit up cartridge world. there's a couple in Indy. it's about $8 a cartridge if i remember right, the the colors are spot on. they're so close that epson is going after them for infringement on a few colors. they usually swap out your old ones for pre-filled and pre-packaged used ones. they work fine. maybe the best cheap option for new is costco, for a complete set.
