Anyone know of any good ones that are really cheap? I'm trying to watch my money so yea, the best and cheapest and also easiest to install would be great :D

500 GB for $100 (after rebate)

That's a really good price...but I'm looking for something even cheaper. My g/f only has like 30 GB on her comp O_o so I'd like to get her one that's good enough...like maybe 100 GB or something like that

200 GB for $50 after rebate. It's a refurb though so don't know how much that bothers you.

Also, perhaps you should consider just going with a hard drive enclosure. That way, you can just buy a cheap HD from anywhere and always upgrade as you see fit.

That's around the price range I was thinking, give or take of course. I really appreciate all the help though! I think I'd rather get one that's not refurbished though, as I've bought lots of stuff over the years and they always seem to go out quicker than just buying a new product in the first place lol

I haven't really heard of that brand. The thing with hard drives is that they're kind of weird. Generally, some of the big name brands (Seagate...Western Digital) seem to be more reliable than the off brands, but keep in mind that all hard drives are prone to failure. That's why HD enclosures are so beneficial; if the HD fails, you can just open it up and put in a new one.

As for the one that you found, I don't foresee any problems with it. I think you should be fine.;)

I don't know much about anything to be quite honset. My g/f lives out of state right now and during the summer she's coming back here, but she's got a lot of saved data on her mom's computer and just wanted to jam it all onto an external hard drive to bring it back home

a Hard Drive enclosure is basically a device that allows you to use internal Hard drives externally. http://lifehacker.com/software/hard-drives/alpha-geek-turn-an-old-hard-drive-into-an-external-drive-253847.php That link is a great explanation for HD enclosures.

Of the links that you mentioned, only the first would be a HD enclosure but check to make sure that you can still open it in the event that the HD fails.
