Rock Band is such garbage, just played the entire demo over at BB.

Guitar is a piece of crap, songs aren't challenging at all.. and drums are wayyyy tooo easy.

That sucks...sure it wasn't just on easy mode?

I hope the drum parts actually provide a good challenge on hard mode. I wanna get the PS2 version with drums when they split up the box.

Nah, I played all of 'em on Expert going from guitar, to drums, guitar to drums.. they didn't have the pedal there.. but man was it a piece of crap.

If you can keep a beat with your fingers, you'll be acing Rock Band.

Also, the guitar is flimsy shiny smudgy plastic... theres no clicking sound on the strum bar to even let you know that you're actually strumming. The strum bar feels akward too, its got like a round edging to it instead of just being flat.

I couldn't believe I was getting 100% on Expert w/ the drums every song I played. :/ The pull offs on RB are shitty too, the little note is a tad bit smaller than the other one and its kinda tough to notice if you're not paying 120% to the song. Maybe the other songs will be a lot harder, but it was just way too easy... maybe I'll try playing drums/guitar at the same time next trip. 8-)

Fuck YES! God I love being a freelancer.

As a freelancer I try to set up a goal of how much money I make in a week before I just take the rest of the week off.

I try to make close to a grand a week, (a mark I come close to but rarely ever hit) so that I can total 4 grand a month. Which isn't a bad income for a 22 year old.

But for some reason....and this as hold true for the last 5 months. I can not get a gig on Monday, Tuesday. By Wens day, I am shitting bricks because I havent made a damn dime yet and the week is almost half over.

But low and behold, when I wake up Thursday morning, its phone call after phone call wanting me to come work on a project. Last night I am crying in a corner because I haven't made anything this week. I wake up today and boom.

"We need you to run a field audio mixer for the Jewish hall of fame on Friday."

15 bucks an hour for 12 hours.

"Can you run a camera control unit on Saturday and Next Tuesday?"

50 bucks an hour

"Hey soodmeg, we are in a tough spot can you come in tonight and edit 3 commercials?"

Boom 200 bucks a pop.

Its such a toss up because both games have a layer of doubt around them. Assassins Creed looks so epic that I want to think that there is something wrong with it. Really short, repeative gameplay.

K and L looks great but could also fall in that same boat. But there is something about robbing backs with people online that pulls me in. That shit just sounds fun as hell.

I haven't read a video game mag since I discovered the interweb.

I seriously do not trust anything in a mag. Just because everything gets cut due to ad space. After 2 or 3 paragraph they are already wrapping it up because there is a giant Halo 3 picture on the next page.

Where as online they can write 5 or 6 pages about one topic and its fine.

What did it say? I read a bunch of online previews and what not but like you...I still have a layer of doubt.

Not if you need a PC anyway. You can take that $350 for a 360 Pro and buy an 8800gt and some RAM. Plus, you'll save $10 to $20 per game at least. Plus Games For Windows means I can use my 360 controller and play on my HDTV.

That's a poor argument because the cost of entry is so high on the PC.

Its not quite as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You can build a nice gaming pc for around 700 dollars. Espically with that new 8800gt thing is hella $$$.

Ill play my hl2 with over 100fps you can play yours with 30. Ill be good.

Plus PC have Garys Mod, only thing that is semi comparable is Forge.

The school I applied to UCLA was due ridiculously early (Nov 1), which really nearly screwed me over due to having to get rush recommendations from people. Luckily, everyone was cool about it, but I didn't have a lot of time to work on my personal statement and other writings for the app, so it was a real rush job.

Next one isn't due till after my December finals, so no worries now.

The trade off for high hardware costs is that software on the PC is usually much lower and tends to head to the bargain bin much quicker (I have like 200 games and I would be shocked if I spent more than 7 dollars on average for all the games that I have). Plus stuff that is good usually has a long life. People are still playing Half Life, Battlefield 2, etc.

Also online on the PC is 100X better than console online will ever be. There is nothing that comes close to a 64 player match of Battlefield on a console.

The think the real problem becomes that its hard to play with friends on a PC. If you dont want 5 of your friend lugging their damn PC's to your house then you are out of luck.

I think people still like the party atmospheres where they are sitting in a living room with a couple buddies playing through a game. Not sitting in a desk chair talking over voice chat.

yeah, my situation was definitely different. I had previously attended for a year before dropping out (with shitty grades too.) So I had to go to CC for a year and a half to prove to UW that I was serious. pretty much a minor miracle that I got in here out of state ;) If you've been doing well up to now, they'll probably take you regardless of how many credits you have at CC.

Clarkson was very good about accepting my ACE credit from one of the NY Comm Colleges... (got it in HS, instead of taking those fucking AP exams).

While most of them didn't actually *count* for required classes, I was able to parlay the English into the first semester writing course and the calc into calc I. The rest of the credits were still accepted, and came in handy later... an additional 12 credit hours filled in the open electives wherever I had them and eventually counted toward the 150 I needed to get 2 degrees in 4 years.

Not arguing with more options. More is good. What I was saying is that there isnt a limitless amount of mods for each game that is out. You have your choice from about 50 or so good to average ones...and about 3 trillion shitty ones.

I just think more people enjoy the uniform platform instead. One where you dont have to worry about your connection speed (somewhat) what programs the other person is using, what super cool gaming rig decked out in rich kid hardware like macro mouses, keyboards and such.

There is just you and the connection speed and the controller and the rest is skill.

Also, how fake did that fight look between the guy that talks to the dead author and Chris Angel?
