There's a free Guitar Hero III theme up. You have to click the Legends of Rock Weekend banner, it was on the main Xbox Live blade for me.

Theme is so-so, it's got 'in-action' shots of Johnny, Judy, Lars and Xavier, and the guide background is some kind of garish, puke yellow metal studded texture.

Indeed. The only places the Weekend banner shows up for me are the blades where I can't click the ads. The only GH3 banner I get in clickable ads is just for the game itself and doesnt give any links to a theme/pic. :bomb:

I can't find it, I looked all over for it. Do you remember what the ad looked like exactly? The clickable ones I see are just saying Guitar Hero III, nothing about weekend. There's a snippet of it in the GHIII, but it only is a summary.

Go to the marketplace, let the ads load, if its not GHIII's weekend press B and then A to go back to the markeplace and try again. This can be done under the "New Games" section or under the "Gamerpics" & "Themes" section.

I updated them on the OP a couple days ago. There's no previews online, but you can preview them on the Marketplace. I got the Factions one, its basically the logos of the teams.

Hm, Linkin, are you registered for the weekend itself? It's possible that that is why you get the pictures but we don't. All I'm seeing is the normal GH3 ad, not the Weekend one except in the unclickable ads.

Edit:Looking closer, the two that say they have the themes here have played GH3 whereas the rest of us haven't. Maybe it's locked only to people who have the game?

Edit of Edit:Seems to just be random. Really really rare random. Ugh.

I just made a Korean account and got Hexic 2 for free as well. Just make sure that when the game auto updates that your consoles language is set to Korean and/or you are logged into your Korean account.

When I play with my normal account, everything is in English!

Has anyone actually found the DEWmocracy theme and gamer pics yet?I found them in one of the random marketplace banners. Funny though, both the theme and gamerpics showed that I'd already downloaded them. I tried them again and they only showed the same Game Fuel ones from before Halo 3 came out. The little window on the right that usually has some kind of preview showed a few different pictures, all looking not half-bad, but my download still just showed the lone Game Fuel one.

I was able to get the Call of Duty 4 "Charlie Oscar Delta Pack" Theme for free by going to the featured downloads tab and picking it (was the first one). Is this the free theme you guys are talking about or is this a different one?

Edit: Ok that was the theme you guys were talking about since I found the banner ad and it took me to that same theme. Both banners showed up under the games tab for me. Also interesting that once I got the theme from the featured downloads page it was no longer there, so those of you having trouble finding the banners should check out the featured downloads page too in case the pic/theme shows up there.

It's ok. It's by Rainbow, who did the PS2 ATV Offroad Fury games, so it feels the same. But, the camera is in a position that makes it hard to judge how your vehicle is oriented in the air, which makes landing perfectly much tougher.

both of the NCAA B-ball games are pretty crappy, but 2K once again is better

next couple of months are going to suck for new games, hopefully some demos will come out that are worthwhile at least thankfully theres plenty of stuff out now that will keep me occupied

Maybe Madden will finally get that patch so I can actually start a franchise ;)

As for NCAA games, both a bit lackluster. EA looks a bit better to me, but I would have to play both again.

I wouldn't even bother with the Orange Box/HL2 demo. Its short, and you don't get a real taste of gameplay. You pretty much use the gravity for 2 things, and then the rest you are following Alyx learning the backstory.

The Mountain Dew Game Fuel Theme and Gamerpics are different from the DEWmocracy Theme and Gamerpics. As far as I can tell for now, if you NEVER downloaded the Game Fuel stuff, you can get the DEWmocracy stuff otherwise it will say that you already downloaded the DEWmocracy stuff even though it's actually the Game Fuel stuff. I want the DEWmocracy stuff.

Really? I tried re-downloading them about a week ago and they were the same. I'll have to try this again later today, maybe they were updated.
I have seen the pics on someone else's account but I have never seen the theme. I asked a friend to download the theme and he said it was not the Game Fuel theme. Then again he never downloaded the Game Fuel theme prior to downloading the DEWmocracy theme.

Yeah. The Maylene and the Whoevers song sounds fun, the Dropkick Murphys have a litany of better songs to choose from (but it still sounds okay), and The Bled sounds fun, if not a forgettable tune.
