This is the dumbest thing CAG has going for it right now. It makes no sense and it just hides the deals from most of the CAG populace. I've missed a couple of deals recently and learned of some others much later than I should have. What's more infuriating is to now see all of these legit, decent deals being locked up and pushed into obscurity.
Cheapy posted an HD-DVD deal (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157629) last week in the deals forums. I wonder why he did that? Maybe because it makes sense to post great deals that are related to the 360 in the Videogame deal forum?
I also can't believe that people missed out on that great Best Buy glitch because some here are too concerned with keeping everything in one "convenient" place in addition to not wanting others to exploit it.
It's all just really fucking stupid. I don't know why it pisses me off so much, but it does. So quit it with the stupid stickies.

Why don't you just check those threads regularly?

Why should any CAG be forced to check individual threads daily just to see if a new deal pops up? Many people here, especially those who are less active, simply scan the VGD forums to see if there are any new deals. These stickies serve no purpose other than to hide the deals from most CAGs.

I agree.
I'm pretty pissed to have missed the BB deal.

I'll side with Ugamer on this as well.

Meh... If anything, HD-DVD/BR deals should be moved to the DVD forum (which could use a rename, btw). The VGD forum is for video games. Maybe I'm stating the obvious, I don't know...

That's fine for them to posted in the DVD forum, as long as they get their own thread and aren't forced to be in one huge, cumbersome thread.

They're already in the DVD forum, which makes 'em even harder to find.
I'm not saying that all BR/HDDVD deals should be in the VGD deals section either. I'm just saying they should be allowed to have seperate threads in their respective forums.

I'll have to agree on this one, using one thread to sort all BD/HD-DVD deals is painstaking. There isn't one thread for all DVD deals, that would take forever to look through... and at the rate that people are purchasing High Def Media, it will only get worse. When i'm looking for a deal, I'm normally looking for a particular movie or television show.

we have hd and bd deal threads for a reason.. if you are even remotely interested in either you would check them ever so often.
Also sometimes you will see seperate threads created for deals like how someone created a thread for the 13.99 hd dvd's at cc and the $x.97 spidey at kmart..
For the record we used to keep it all in one thread but alot of ppl complained about it......
^^^ Agreed w/above, sort of. I think the really good stuff does get highlighted.
As for the bb thing, I don't know if "glitch" deals are really legit deals deserving of their own thread. How often does bb really honor those? Unless the potential "sorry for the inconvenience" $5 coupon is that important.
Anyway, it's not my call, of course.

That doesn't make any sense at all. Maybe I want to find deals that interest me without having to go through multiple pages to get all the info I need. That's like saying we should have PS2 only thread for people who are only interested in PS2 deals.

Those threads were locked, which is my point.

You're obviously a victim of the single thread yourself. Had there been seperate threads you would've known that the "glitch" I'm referring to involved Best Buy giving away up to $200 worth of HD-DVD movies on top of the Heroes Season 1 Boxset with the purchase of the 360 add-on.

Well, not really because I already have a 360 add-on and all the HD-DVD movies I currently want atm (including Heroes Season 1, which is awesome) and there was no reason for me to buy another just to try and get in on a glitch (generally not into selling on the secondary market). I understand I may be the exception, though.
Yeah, it's really not my call. You could try PM'ing Cheapy and mods, if you're that passionate about it.

There really is no reason to have dedicated threads for these deals. As mentioned above, we don't have dedicated PS2 threads for PS2 deals. Let's stop the practice and see how it goes.

Thank you, sir! The amount of HD-DVD and Blu Ray deals are sure to increase in the future, and it makes no sense to cram them all in the respective HD-DVD and Blu Ray deal threads. They deserve to be highlighted in individual threads just like normal DVD deals are.

It is done. I've locked up the two threads and forum has been renamed to "DVD, Blu-ray, and HD-DVD Deals (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26)".
Thanks to everyone who contributed to those threads.

Cheapy you are a wonderful wonderful person. It makes sense to do each deal as they come up instead of digging through 30 pages of old deals and finds. Thank you.

So we should just post everything in the VGD forum because people are lazy?
I liked the deal threads myself. Oh well, they'll still be cross-posted in the individual discussion threads, which is what I follow.
