I sometimes think about a videogame tattoo as well. Then I realize I'd rather get barbed wire around my biceps.

I've got the classic Sega logo on my lower back and the AM2 palm tree on my ankle. Both because my youth was spent playing solely Sega consoles.

If I ever got a tatoo it would definitely be from a video game.

Not to mention it may be harder to actually get the fiancee in the first place.

I just KNOW somewhere there are folks walking around with Pac- Man, Space Invaders and Atari tattoos on them that little kids say "What IS that" to.... Glad I didn't get the Ryu in mid dragon punch that I wanted in the early 90's....but maybe Master Chief might be cool :)

One of the only cool pure gaming related tatoos that I have seen, and isn't ultra nerdy imo. Is my friend who was a local tekken champ. Got the Jin tatoo from tekken on his arm.
I saw another guy with a Decepticon and Autobot tatoo on each arm, but even though it was well done it looked a little cheesy.
Ive also seen the cobra from gi joe insignia, that one was better.

You could always get something that couldn't directly be viewed as a "video game tattoo" to the outsider.
Like the sword from Zelda or Thudercats (I know it's a cartoon and not so much a game) or if you get Kid Icarus get a more "real" looking version of an angle with a bow and arrow.
Either that or you could say "fuck it" and get a spider tattooed on your face.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it probably wasn't an actual tattoo.
Remember this?
This summer, Coke is running an in-theater promotion featuring Spyro the Dragon on 400,000 kids' meal trays. The promotion begins July 1st through the summer. Each tray comes with a Spyro the Dragon tattoo!

Not that it really matters, but I asure you it was a real tattoo, the lady was from somewhere in europe. It had a little article on her and the tattoo. She claimed to be spyros number one fan. This was a couple years ago, before insomniac sold out. I remember because I was a very big spyro fan (1-3 on the psone).

Honestly, if you need us to help you decide, then don't get it. If you can't come up with one off the top of your head, you probably don't want it that bad. I could suggest a bad-ass Link tat, but that might not be cool to you 5 years from now.

I think a Mega Man or Mario or something like that would be classy. They wouldn't be all gawdy and they would be recognizable enough that most people would probably think them "cool" instead of "geeky".

well since i have a really huge tatoo on my back, it would be good if you'll hear out my opinion about tatoos (from 1st hand experience):
1. decide why you wanna get a tatoo. most usually get it just to show off their "badass" side. its different when you wanna hide a scar or wanna show of a well built body. its an art in its own place. just have the right reasons for having it.
2. remember ITS PERMANENT and although you can have it surgicaly removed years later, it will cost more than 10x than having it on.
3. a really cool tatoo would be close to NOTHING if placed wrongly, in contrast, a simple tatoo could have wicked effects if placed correctly! me, i decided to have it on my back (good choice) since i didnt want to have trouble about job offers (im a medical practitioner thats why).
4. decide on a really dependable artist. tatoos cost at a minimum of $500 and up! you wouldnt wanna screw it and have a bad one! besides it cant be erased, only overwritten (which would cost another set of dough). be sure the artist knows what he's doing, even if you have a really good tatoo, it wouldnt be worth it if you see 10people on the street having the same thing!
5. dont be superman, 6 needles placed back to back is really PAINFUL. not to mention how much the outline of the tatoo hursts! i could handle pain really well but i have to admit, it really is quite painful.
6. TATOOS ARE VERY ADDICTIVE!!! once you have one, you cant stop thinking about what design you'll be having next and where to place it! i have one huge tatoo but it was done in 3 sessions.. and i actually want some more!

what about the zelda triforce? or if your old enough to have been truely effected by it, the atari symbol would make and exceptional statement.
check out this link, a small page devoted to videogame tats

That iron maden one sporting the atari shirt is pretty slick

you'll only regret the tattoo in near future. So dont be stupid and get a game tattoo. Besides, then you wont be able to be buried in a jewish cemetery
