Some of those deals are in the new GMR and start on the 1st of Aug. I'm into the "Pre Order SW Battlefront & get an exclusive Hasbro SW Figure" (which starts 8/1 - I don't know if you get the figure when you pre order or when you actually pick up the game...anyone know??). Another deal that starts on the 1st, which was not mentioned, is "Pre Order Paper Mario 2 and get a $10 mail in voucher". $40 for Paper Mario 2 sounds pretty good to me.

Alright, I got a question, say I trade in a PS2 or XBOX game, I get $10 off any hot hit title? Does that mean in theory you can get Red Dead revolver for $19.99? And what titles would be acceptable for trade in?

I'm wondering the same thing here. That would be a decent price for RDR.

yeah i guess since red dead revolver is going to be $29.99 you can trade in a game to bring it down to $19.99. Any old sports titles 2004 and older, along with any pre-played titles that are usually sold for under $9.99 are usually excluded, just call your EB and ask if its a PO game or POX on their computer. If its PO then it will work for the deal. However I think Red Dead Revolver is going to have a universal price drop to $29.99 soon, so it may even be cheaper at other places on sunday sales. But if you can get it for $19.99 then thats not a bad deal ethier.

Wait a second.... a used Gamecube is cheaper than a used GBA SP? Does anyone else think that's a little odd/stupid? But at least they're finally bringing down the price of a used SP to $80, just like Gamespot. Still too expensive, IMO.

are only select gamecube player's choice titles applicable for the 2 for $30 sale? last time they did this(2 for $25 actually on black friday I think) they didn't exclude anything but maybe they've changed it. if not that would be a pretty sweet deal, some of them retail for $30 alone(mario golf, super mario sunshine).

I am 99 percent sure that the free game is of equal or lesser value, so what you mentioned cannot be done, as you could only get a game that was valued at 15 dollars or less since that's what you spent on both of them.

Oh local EB! Why won't you stock any DCs? Hopefully someone will trade one in by then.

I'd trade in one of my CC games for that $10 discount on those newer games, but I'd be saving less than if I used a GGC.

Spidey21885

If your local EB doesn't have any used Dreamcast systems then are you screwed or will they try and get some in?

Benaorn
08-01-2004, 02:18 PM
Do they include the network adapter for the used PS2? I mean the adapter is 30-35 dollars and if you buy a new PS2 you get it for free. A used PS2 is 119.99 + 30-35 = over 150 dollars. EB and GS need to realize this.

Deals begin August 7th and ends August 15th

-Spiderman 2 GBA/PC $19.99*
*after 10 dollar eb gift voucher

Never having taken advantage of one of these deals, Ihave a question.
"10 dollar eb gift voucher"
Isn't that a 10 dollar gift certificate, after mail in rebate, for use on your next purchase? So in actuality the original game itself is full price, *and* you have to buy something else from them later to use the 'gift voucher.' So in a way it's even worse than a rebate, because that's at least cash back.
Please correct me if i'm wrong, this is just my understanding based on reading the signage. I'd like to be wrong, because if I'm right, this phrasing
"-Spiderman 2 GBA/PC $19.99*
*after 10 dollar eb gift voucher"
is an outright lie.

DirtyBoB
08-02-2004, 01:52 AM
It's not a lie, although they do word it like a used car ad, a gift voucher is basically a 10 dollar gift card you get in the mail

It is pretty close to an outright lie. A truer statement would read:

"Buy Spiderman 2 GBA/PC for $29.99, get a $10 gift voucher for future purchase"
or
"Spend $29.99 get $39.99 in value w/purchase of Spiderman 2 GBA/PC"

yeah, usually only the big eb stores carry it, or the ones in strip centers. If its a EB in a regular mall and the store isnt that big they usually dont sell 8-bit, 16-bit or N64/DC anymore, and if they get some traded in they usually ship it out to other stores.

Say what you want about GS, but I made out pretty well on trade-ins this weekend. I wanted to unload Wresltemania XIX, Def Jam, and 007 Nightfire. EB was about to give me $10 total. But I went to Gamestop and got $28 and change! But YMMV, of course.

Anyways, does anybody know if the B2G1 deals will be online? I know they've done that before during B&M sales, so I think it's fairly likely.

I bought a load of used games from ebgames.com this past Sunday and used the pplay15 and saver codes. The games will probably be here tomorrow. I would have saved a lot more money had I waited til now to buy them, but I wasn't aware of the pending deal last Sunday. Does anyone know if I can send the unopened box back and get my money back and reordeer using the new offer? Or do they ever give store credit in situations like this? I probably would have saved around $25 or $30 extra had I waited until today. :(

I just got Tales of Symphonia for $21.54 :)

I traded in my xbox games. Someone please tell me why I own xbox games when I only have a cube... :P I only get a chance to play them when I am other people's houses.

Anyway I got $15 for Top Spin, $10 for Oddworld (the $10 hot title deal, real value was $2) and $5 for Kung Fu Chaos. One weird thing happened though. The guy wanted Chaos (really bad actually) and asked if I would mind if he took it for $5. I thought, "Why would I care?" and said "Sure." He then: opened the register, took ten dollars out, pocketed $5 and gave me $5 towards TOS. I am not sure what that was all about but I didn't ask. lol I got the only copy left and it was the floor one but I didn't care as long as the discs were perfect and they always are from my EB. Gamestop is a different story...

Just got back from the Sterling Heights EB and here's the damage...
Got True Crime (GC) for $10 after I traded in Big Mutha Truckas for a $10 credit.
Also got RE:Make and Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom in the 2 for 30 Player's Choice Deal.

You know what's weird, two days ago when I went to EB before the sale started, they had loads of good used games for all platforms, like tons of them. I go into there today right when they open and the shelves of used games are virtually empty. I was the first one in there and the sale just started today. All they had was crap games and just two days ago, they had some really good used games in abundance. Really werid, seems unlikely they would sell that many used games in one day. Wonder what happened to them all. Pissed me off kinda, I couldn't even find three games worth buying across all 3 platforms.

Well I got Fatal Frame II, Onimusha 3, and ZOE:The 2nd Runner for 65 and some change. I didn't think that was too bad of a haul as all the games came with their manuals and only Fatal Frame II has minor scratches on it. It seems to work fine so far, but I'm definitely going to have to be the most wary of that one in case I have to return it because of it being unable to play due to one of those scratches.

Hey I got a question, I purchased Everquest Platinum today and the store didn't know about the 10 voucher even though it was advertised on the shelf. They told me to go print the one online and send it in. Well I went to do that and it says that you will get the code via email to use only online. Well I don't want an online coupon. I guess I will go to the other EB in town and see. Did anyone else today get a print voucher for buying on the games that came with a voucher?

Hey, I tried to get Animal Crossing and Super Smash Bros. But they said that wouldn't work because it had to be 2 PC games priced at 19.99 is this true?? However, I did get Wild Arms 3, Time Crisis 2, and Viewtiful Joe for about 38 dollars. They all have many scratches but very strangely, they all work perfectly...weird. I missed out on Ikaruga because someone bought it yesterday, Arg! Oh yeah, it seems some of the good PO games are missing there..weird also

I just had the greatest EB experience EVAR!

I picked up 2 used copies of PSO 1 & 2 for the cube (1 for me, 1 for ebay :) ) and since one didn't have the instructions, the guy gave me the ones out of a display box!
Plus, I asked if they had any used copies of Ninja Gaiden for XBOX and the guy said no, but he let me get a "new" (turned out to be resealed but still in perfect condition) copy as my free game!

Plus with my 10% off, I ended up getting 3 games for $83 and I should be able to get at least $40ish back from PSO online so I think I got a nice deal.

Can you re-sell used PSO games? I thought once the access code was used by someone that it couldn't be used by someone else again.

Had to check around at all 3 EB's in the area.. had a pretty mixed experience as far as the B2G1 deal went.

EB #1: Didn't have anything I was looking for at all.
EB #2: Had both games I was looking for, but only one of them was used. Out of luck.
EB #3: Had another title I was looking for but some other lady had already grabbed it.

So in the end I didn't get anything I was hoping to get, but still picked up: SH2 Restless Dreams, Tony Hawk's Underground and Knights of the Old Republic with the store credit I had from some tradeins. Okay deal, I guess.

Do you guys think that I can trade in Dark Cloud GH (from the BB.com deal) for $10 towards the hot hit titles, namely Red Dead Revolver? Or is Dark Cloud one of the excluded titles.

The following games are not eligible for special trade-in offers. These games can still be traded in at regular trade-in values.

There ya go guys!

Oh yeah, on the trade a game in and get $10 off a "hot title", is it a gift voucher or actually like $10 in trade in credit??

I'm going for Red Dead Revolver for $19.99 by trading in F1 Career Challenge from CC. I'm curious as to why more people haven't gone after it... is it not a good deal or do most people already have it?

Thanks suko_32 I added the list to the front page and organized it a little better. Also added a few new deals nothing special except the Trade 2 games towards X-men Legends, THUG2 or Call of Duty and get 20.00 credit.

thats a good deal, I bought Red Dead on the first day it came out. Great game, however after you beat the game its kind of dead unless you play the multiplayer. However thats how it is for a lot of games, but if you only have to spend 20 dollars then thats a steal. I had to pay 45 for it when I could've easily waited.

By the way, has anyone noticed that the 2 for $30 promotion is totally broken online?

If you select the PS2 section it shows GC games and the 2FOR30 still doesn't work even though the sale is supposed to start today.
Also, there is no Xbox section...

Very odd...

The "manager" must have decided not to come in on the weekend. ;) Most likely a case of the right-hand not knowing what the left-hand is doing.

yeah you would get 10.00 trade in credit, so basically 10.00 off one of the hot hit titles. I think you can trade in more then 1 game, someone mentioned on the board earlier they did it with tales of symphonia so you should be able to.

Only one was bumped up to $10, the rest were the regular trade in prices. But it just so happened to be 3 games = $30

I went into the other eb games near me and the manager dug and got me a coupon for the $10 everquest voucher. I also browsed the xbox games and picked up:
Sudeki, Soul Caliber 2, and True Crime for $58 after my 10% discount. The funny thing is that he game me 10% off the game that I got for free so I got an extra 1.80 off. :D

Decided to post this here instead of an entirely new topic. For 1 day only at the brand new ebgames at universal city walk, located in universal city CA, they are having a grand opening special on Aug 11 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. There giving away gamer's gift pack for the first 200 customers and they also have coupons. The best coupon I saw was buy one preplayed game get one free. But only for Aug 11.

Just got back from EB store. I traded 3 CC titles: State of Emergency, Oddworld: MO, and Roadkill for KotOR and Hitman 2. Both are sealed, not all cut up BS like most of their so-called "brand new" games. Did end up paying $2.32 extra for tax. So my cost for the 2 games come out to be like $18.46 after taxes. Thus the deal came out pretty great for me. I think today is the last day to do that kind of trade.
