Anybody know the name/author of this short story?
It's about agroup of scientists that somehow discover a portal to another dimension/world/whatever. They see disgusting slime like creatures through the portal and send a scientist through to investigate.
I can't recall but it may be that a few people have already gone through but none have ever returned and they are sending this last guy in a final attempt to gather a bit of info before returning.
Anyway he goes through and is transformed into one of the slime creatures. Thing is being this creature is such bliss and happiness that he can't bring himself to return through the portal for even the brief time it would take to tell the rest of the human race about it.
