View Full Version : Calling all people who have played Kingdom Hearts!
I'm nearly six hours into the game and I was wondering... How long would it take the average person to beat it? Thanks to anyone who answers! :D

40-50 hours more if you want to take on the optional bosses.

it took me about a month I would play on and off and about 2-8 hours a day If I did play that day.

30-40 hours without optional stuff. With it would probably take another 5-10 hours. On my first run through it took about 35 hours with only some of the sidequests completed, but my second time (with sidequests) was about 43 hours.. It depends on how good you are and how much you have practiced in that game. Luck also has something to do with it, because some of those optional bosses are damn hard.

I'm about 30 hours into the game and nearly done with it, but that's before sidequests. It also depends on how fast you're leveling up (whether you started in the morning, mid-day, or night). Each one requires you to get a different amount of EXP to level up, so it may take you longer just because you need to spend more time getting stronger.

It took me a little more then 30 hours, but I did not take on the optional bosses, so I did not need to do too much leveling up.

yeah average is 40-50 hours. 5 of those hours were spent getting items to pump up my strength so I could beat Sephiroth.

Christ, despite my 40 hours of play, and beating every other optional boss, I've never been able to beat Sephiroth.
I did enjoy every minute of play tho.

I spent a couple extra hours dry-heaving every time I had to listen to Donald and Goofy. They were to this game what Jar-Jar was to Star Wars Episode 1. If they're in the 2nd game I'll skip it.

The first time through I beat the game in 30-40 hours.

This is kinda related, so I'll just post it here-
I'm very close to the end of the game, and just wanted to know what level I should be at. Also, is it worth it to get the improved Aero spells or Ultima?

A sequel without Donald and Goofy? Blasphemy!

This makes me want to go back and see if I actually did beat the optional bosses. I could have sworn I beat Sephiroth, but I can't remember for the life of me now.
I beat it getting everything and beating every boss in like 50 hours.

I did it just for the sake of being a completist.
Ultima does help in the final battle, but I'm sure you could beat the game without it.

I beat the game without Ultima, IIRC. In fact, I think I only had the strongest version of like 2 of the spells. And none of the ultimate weapons.
If you beat Sephiroth you'd probably remember it - it is NOT easy (I never did it).

I beat the game in 30 hours, with the "secret ending". However, I didn't beat all of the optional bosses or find all the ultimate weapons. And I'm sure it will take awhile for me to get strong enough to kill Seph...he stomped me flat in 2 hits!

I overestimated how long the game actually took me. I just beat it today, and it was around 23 hours, without any sidequests or secret bosses. Then again, I started off during the early morning, which meant fast leveling, and I had gotten fairly far into the game a long time ago when I rented it back when it came out.

It took me close to 60 hours. About 10 of those were dedicated to leveling up enough to beat Sephiroth and the other optional bosses.
What an awesome game, though. I hope they stick some cool optional bosses in the sequel...maybe Gilgamesh from FFV or something. I dunno.
And am I the only one who actually enjoyed Jar Jar's comic relief? I hated the little kid...that should count for something.

I fully agree. I hated that kid who played Anakin in TPM. Comic relief is good in almost anything, be it Jar Jar in Star Wars or Donald and Goofy in KH. It seems that the people who don't enjoy comic relief are either those who can't laugh at themselves or they feel they are smarter/more mature than they really are. And I feel sorry for either type of person.

I was around 50 hours to get pretty much all the items and weapons and beat all the bosses, except Sephiroth. I think I'll play it again before the sequel comes out. I can't wait for that one.

i dropped a good sixty hours but I did EVERYTHING! I just had to get everyone to level 99 and all the weapons and school the hidden bosses! It's worth your while to do everything if you are a big Square fan!

Everything EXCEPT customize the gummy ship. I really hope nothing like the gummy ship makes it into the sequel. Flying that thing between worlds was a huge waste of time. It was so easy to fly, what was the point of even trying to figure out how all those customizations worked?

I got up to around level 83 or so and Sephiroth was cake.
I also killed off Kurt Zisa and the Phantom. Plus I got EVERYONE's ultimate weapon (Ultima, Save the King, and Save the Queen) and all the strongest spells and puppies.
Good times.

Two quick questions:
From the way you guys are talking about Sephiroth, is he as much of a pain to beat as Ruby Weapon in FF7?
Is there any Alice in Wonderland stuff in the game for my g/f to enjoy?

I beat it around 50 hours (I really enjoyed the combat, so sometimes I'd just go to a stage for fun) afterward I raked in another 30 hours collecting puppies, fighting sub bosses, and just having fun leveling up

Alice in Wonderland is in there. Its a very early stage and its fun as hell. Also, I would say Sephiroth is just as much a pain as Ruby Weapon because I was never able to beat either one.

Alice in Wonderland was one of the least playable levels IMO, but the rotating room was kind of a neat idea I guess.

I beat it in 42 hours. I got all the requirements for the secret levels and beat Kurt Zisa and the Ice Titan who is a bitch if you don't know what ot do. Too bad you don't get shit for beating the optional bosses tho. How cool would it have been if you got something like Sephiroths sword as a keyblade or a meteor attack for magic.

I remember when I rented it I reached "The End of the World" which is the final stage in 21 hours. If I had kept on going I would have finished it in 22-23 hours.
