OK, so I go to work today and get asked "Did you see the video game sale?" "Oh no...let me go see"

Well, in short, my Sears was getting ready for X-mas with sales and deals out the rear lately, and video games were on the list. Some games that I grabbed and prices listed:

I was able to stop by a Sears a couple of hours ago. They had Panzer Dragoon Orta marked at $29.99 behind the glass case. I had the sales associate take it out and scan it. It rang up at $14.97, so those prices are YMMV :(

As soon as I read the post, I ran to the nearest Sears (in Tacoma, WA). Only title they had was Wild Arms 3 (PS2) and it scanned at $19.97! I hate these YMMV deals :evil:

The Sears here had all the games on the list, which I made the poor clerk take out of the glass and scan, and they all came up full price. Grabbed by the Ghoulies was $9.99 though. Everything else like Tiger woods (which had a sale sign that read $27.99 in front of it) rang at $49.99. Oh well.

And the reason is this: Prices are universal, but stores can mark them down, in store, to get rid of OLD stuff to make room for new stuff. This was just something so they can clean out for x-mas.

$15 is too much for dark allaince 2 imo, rented it for 99 cents a while back, when it is under $10 i might consider picking it up and beating it.

I remember when someone got a psone+lcd bundle for $30 at the sears in new york city, and we all tried to price match that, but none of the stores would pricematch it bc it was out of state, and even the stores in new york state would not do the price match, so I am afraid were are out of luck on this one.(unless you live in pennsylvania.)

At that price, you could have pricematch to last week's CC ad, which had it for $14.99. With the additional 10%, would have came out to $11.19, which I would grab in a heartbeat 8)

splashdown on xbox was $5.97 or something at my sears...i picked one up(something like $25 credit at fye)....their weren't any other games below $15

Sears has had this "clearance" going on for a few weeks now. They aren't getting ready for christmas, they are going to be getting rid of the gaming sections completely in most stores. My store has already thrown out the large glass cases, and has put all the video games onto one small shelf. They then proceed to mark the prices way up, or mark them down by 5 bucks. NFS:U was $44.99 on "clearance".

Also, they're down to mainly the old sports games, which I will not list, as they are pointless.


PS. Some kid bought 19 yesterday, and claimed to sell them for $50 each on ebay, already. What a tool. Someone else mentioned buying them and selling them on ebay, and I told him, truthfully, that it's not even worth it, as they go on ebay for about the same amount.

I checked two Sears today. At one it didn't look like anything was happening with the games, but they were seriously moving stuff around and reorganizing. I'll check in tomorrow to see if they marked down any games. The second Sears was totally cleared out of Xbox games, there was only like 4 titles remaining in the store. Almost looked like they were getting rid of their Xbox software and continuing to sell Xbox hardware & accessories as well as PS2 stuff.

I just went to my Sears. Northridge CA and picked up Panzer Dragoon Orta for 14.98. Great Deal. I called and the guy said it was 29.99 but I told him to scan it and it rang up as 14.98. There's one copy left! Go get it.

I found the XBOX HiDef adapter for $9.95 at the Sears in Santa Rosa, CA. I haven't been to a Sears in years and I thought that was a pretty good deal. I haven't seen it for under MSRP anywhere. I already have the HiDef adapter tho :roll:
