The skin underneath is still raw, and as a result of practice last night, I now have another blister where the old one was. And I've got my leg-lifting routine this morning that I'm not fucking missing.

I kinda hope I end up bleeding everywhere at some point. If not today, then running tomorrow or reffing Saturday in Columbus. I should be fun when it inevitably happens.

Liquid 2, and a few others giving me a rough time over a license, I explained my reasoning here:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3586369&postcount=32

It all has to do with I'm rarely at home, so I can't really practice. There's no denying it really bothers me that I don't have it, but there's nothing I could do when I had time, my parents wouldn't sign anything and wouldn't allow me to get it, after what happened with my older sister.

The biggest problem for me was parallel parking. I still avoid parallel parking at all costs. A man's gotta know his limitations after all.Well, I had the car since June, and I had a permit since May. I was looking into getting my full license in August, but it didn't work out. Well, I'm going to practice in the snow this Winter at least. Now my target is March 2008, when I'm on Spring Break. All you have to do is parallel park once and you'll have it down. Highway driving is normal driving but faster and with more assholes. Heavy traffic driving is driving slow and making sure you don't hit anyone's bumper.

Hey Number83, how's Hellgate?

Personally, I like it but at the same time I'm disappointed because of all the hype. It's certainly not Diablo. I'm only on the first few quests which are your standard get this, take that to so-and-so, kill 10 of those, here's your nice +2 vest. The graphics are good (I only have dual DX9 cards), but the inventory interface is confusing and the instructions are lacking in any real explanation.

The characters are varied enough (I chose an Engineer). There are your melee characters, magic users and a little of both. Only problem is, that I want to change skills in my skill tree, and there is no way to do that. Once you start, there is no turning back.

I haven't tried online yet though, so I don't know about the community.

All in all, it's decent but not real fulfilling. I probably need to get further into it for that effect. I bought it on launch day with reward zone coupons, but honestly, I would wait for a price drop ($29.99 or less).

I forgot to mention another one you might be interested in, and it embarrasses me that I left it off, considering I was listening to it yesterday morning. The reissue from a year or so ago of the 101ers Elgin Avenue Breakdown is well worth your time.

It's Joe Strummer's "pub rock" band from right before The Clash, which he famously left immediately after he saw the Sex Pistols play. The album collects pretty much their entire recorded output and some live stuff. It's 50's style rockabilly/rock and roll kind of stuff, if that turns you off, but with a more garage sensibility.

Seriously, how can you not like an album with a song titled "Rabies (From the Dogs of Love)"? Plus, it has "Keys to Your Heart" on it, which is just one of the best tunes ever recorded. As I said, shouldn't be in your first batch, but keep it in mind if you like what you hear.

Is that a commentary on the quality of the DVD or a review of the band? Considering we're talking about a band that played so loud that it became routine for audience members to become sick from the noise, either one would make sense. I love them anyway, though I think Slowdive and the Pale Saints were the best bands to come out of that scene.

The Walmart over near there...*shudder*

Even my gf didn't want to go to it.

After I was living there, I left for Easter holidays to go see parents. We went to my grandparents house in Coleman, which is near Abilene (basically upper middle west part of Texas).

On the way there, we stopped in Gatesville or Goldthwaite, I can't remember which, but there was a Walmart there, so we went inside.

Man, all the white people. Bunch of hillbillies and rednecks.

After being down in McAllen for so long, I literally had an identity crisis in there. I couldn't figure out which people I better liked, and which ones I found more annoying/displeasing.

Why the fuck are there 34 gamestops within a 2 mile radius of each other (really it's like 3 in a .5 mile radius, but still)...

I went looking for NGS and R&C Future the other day, to use the 20% coupon on used copies. Because everything has the same fucking address (they're all right by the mall) I didn't have time to play detective... chika guessed store (a) was the one at the address I was eyeballing... and it was a good guess too.

So I rush in there, as I was on my way to an appointment, and I can only find NGS. So I give in, grab that, and resign to check the other stores before the end of the day today, if I have the time. The clerk laughs when I ask if they'd had any R&C Future used and checked the system -- he said the closest copy used was over in middletown which was like an hour in the wrong direction.

After checking the local stock indicator this morning, I see R&C Future is still listed as 1-3 copies in the same store. I had a little more time this morning, so I did the sleuthing to find which store this was -- I stop into the correct store (according to the tracker) this time to find out they indeed had 1 copy. They sold it yesterday.

FUCK.

If they had distinctive fucking addresses or consolidated the stores, I would have had this happen.

hmmm, pretty good review on Orgone's The Killion Floor at OKP (though I really do not agree with that score). And the dude totally fucks up by saying it is their first release, they've been releasing stuff for the last 6 years

Do cactus's have strong root systems?

I'm planning on digging a small one up on the way out of here to take back home, not a big sombrero type, just a little one I can fit in a pot or something.
