I had mine taken out. It turned out it wasnt my appendix, there was this pocket of fluid in me. That hurt like a bitch to take out. They jammed this metal tube in me, and the dick head doctor kept missing, and it fucking hurt. The removing of my appendix didnt hurt that much, I wasnt in much pain from it.

Ya. When they took the appendix out, I was knocked out. You will be a little sore for a day or two, but not that bad. You will get pain killers. I got dimerol. Thast shit was off the hook!

not flaming just.....????
hey I found this... depending on which way they take it out you go home the same day or stay 1-2 days.
Two types of appendectomy
Surgery is scheduled soon after the appendicitis is diagnosed; with too long a wait, the appendix could rupture.
Surgeons can remove the appendix by the "open" technique or by laparoscopy, also known as minimally invasive surgery. General anesthesia is used with both procedures, but from then on, there are some differences between the two.
With "open" surgery, an incision is made in the abdomen, revealing the abdominal cavity. The intestine is moved aside and the appendix removed. Then the surgeon sutures up the muscle wall and closes the incision. A hospital stay of 1 to 2 days can be expected with a routine surgery where the appendix stays in tact; if the appendix has ruptured, the patient will be hospitalized for a longer period of time.
During a "lap appy," the laparoscope is inserted near the belly, and two to three small, 1/4 inch to 1 inch incisions are made for specially designed surgical instruments. The camera projects a magnified image of the area onto a television monitor, which the surgeon uses as a guide to remove the appendix. Usually, the patient can go home the same day as the surgery. With this procedure, recovery time is greatly reduced, there is generally less need for pain medications, and patients can resume their normal lifestyles sooner than they could with the open technique.

Oh ya, I have one 3/4-1" scar in my belly button, and a small hole scar on my side, not very noticable.

I had the mask. Im a real wuss when it comes to cutting me open and stuff. When I had my knee scoped, they asked if I wanted to get numbed from the waist down or all they way out. I was put all the way out. Fuck that. There is no way I wanted to watch them cut my knee open, scrape it out, then use polyeter pegs to close it up.

Im a huge wuss when it comes to surgery stuff too. I'm afraid to even go to the hospital let alone be cut open. Hospitals always smell like death

I just tuff it out unless it is life threating, or could turn that way. I hate hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies.

Well, duh. Nobody goes to a hospital when they feel well.
And if that was sarcasm, then I salute you.

You get used to the Death smell if you are in the hospital long enough...
