i have the option of putting a big screen 51" hdtv in my room, but I can only set up my room one way and my bed cuts about 1/5 of the picture off the bottom of the tv. right now i have a 31" in here on my dresser. what should i do? keep the smaller one or put the bigger one in there and have part of the picture cut off? or is there a better solution? thanks

I say keep the 31". I would be pissed if I couldnt see the whole tv. Plus, if things are that tight, the picture wont look as good as it should.

I agree with Nick, if you can't see all 51 inches, what's the point?

agree, u need to be so far away from a big tv like that to get the true picture quality, and it sounds like u arent that far.

I would take your mattress off the box spring and the bed stand and lay it on the floor. That way you get all 51 inches of that puppy. Remember, bigger is better.

HDTV sucks for full screen viewing. I watch movies only on my HDTV and play games on my regular flat screen TV.

Put the TV in there and toss the bed.

The bed is such a low tech item to share a room with that magificent screen. Ditch the bed and look into something like a foldaway. This will allow better seating for multiple players and viewing while leaving the option open for other things.

Skip to the bottom for the short answer...
If your room is that small you'll be way too clese to the screen anyway. I've got one room in my house that sounds that small, it's about 12' across and 14-16' long, sounds like it may be the size of your room and there's no way I would put a 51" in there unless I could recess it in the wall. and then I probably still wouldn't
Short answer
Stick with the 31".

I have a fouton... great way to save space. The more expensive ones are comfortable.
And during the day you just use the couch position and enjoy your bigass tv.
