Thanks for quick response, but i would have to drop 40 bucks on a damn bridged cable, well what about over a network, would that work?

Probably easier/cheaper via ethernet. Either connect both PCs to a router or switch, or you can connect the PCs directly if you use a cross-over cable, which is the Cat5 equivalent of a bridged USB cable.

Yes you'll need a crossover cable, but you can make (http://www.lanshack.com/make-cat5e.aspx) your own out of a regular cable. But since you probably don't have a crimper, I'd strip a part of the cable and snip and twist the wires that needed to be crossed.

The flash drive is a genius idea, but i am moving around 20-30 GBs of data. I will try the crossover cable tonight.

Also, if both computers have firewire you can use that. It doesn't require a special cable and is literally plug and play.

You could get a cross overcable at your pc store, and connect the two via ethernet; you could do this with a hub and 2 ethernet cables if you dont have a cross over.

there.
I don't use windows, so I can't tell you what to do from experience, but it looks like a fairly thorough guide.
