SOCOM: Confrontation, if this is anything like SOCOM 2......

Damn I loved SOCOM 2 back in the day, was and still is my favorite online game ever. I will nver forget the awesome days of Fishook---I haven't played it since Socom 3 came out, and I stopped playing Socom 3 once I got my 360 a little over a year ago.


Socom 3 was a huge disappointment to me, SOCOM 2's maps were amazing and gameplay took more skill online. S3's map sucked, every one of them, and I hated vehicles. It seemed like a totally different game. If Confrontation is similar to Socom 2, I seriously might buy a PS3 just to play it.
And now that I think of it, it sounds so nerdy, but SOCOM 2 were the best times of my life playing a game online. Communication was solid (voicechat), everyone was competitive, it was awesome.

From the very few screen on Gamespot, it looks like that map is Desert Glory, if I am not mistaken? If so, I'm about to skeet my pants :)

It would be nice if they could find a way to keep out the racist, homophobic assholes that tend to ruin SOCOM games. Oh wait, that's just about every online game...

some of the screens are from crossroads, that was a great map as well.

I thought the same things when seeing the screens op. we'll have to get a few games in when this thing hits, if you do get a PS3 :)

personally I thought that socom 1 was the best of the series. That game has to have my most logged in online hours for a game. Every night from 11pm untill 5 am I was playing it. I didn't enjoy the 2nd one nearly as much and didn't bother with the 3rd one after being a beta tester.
