Patches for morrowind?

at the beginning of this year I got a new computer.
Pc specs:
Vista home premium
core 2 duo e6600
2gb ram
8800 gts 640mb
Although morrowind hasn't been running very well, is there any patches that will make it compaible with newer hardware and os'es.
I also have oblivion, so don't recommend that I just play that instead
