I was wondering which Metroid Prime guide you guys thought was the best? The Brady, Prima, or Nintendo Power.

I think Brady games is the best. I've used their brand for a long time. I'd lick some balls for a brady guide right now

I got the NP guide. It has helped a lot. I have been using it mainly on my second playthough(to collect all the items)

Is the NP guide well written? It seems lately their guides have been getting worse and worse

How different can they really be?
I don't think you'll find here somebody who owns all three (or even two), but the information must be pretty much the same.

the NP guide is filled with screenshots and short captions of the enviorment. There is a lot less use of type and is more visual.
the maps are very good in the guide as well

Yeah you're right, but I'm just looking for positive endorsements for one guide at a time, whichever one gets the most positives I'll get.

These are bound to be as random as the reasons that made people pick up the guides in the first place.
If you can physically look at the guides, get the one which appeals to you.

Yeah, basically I'm just trying to weed out any bad guides.

I've got the Prima guide but I cannot comment on it as I've never used it. Looking through it I see lots of screenshots and maps. It's a Metroid Prime/Fusion guide.
I'll trade it for a KOTOR guide if you'd like. Or a guide for almost any other next gen game I have will work. For my games look here... http://users.ign.com/collection/TGJA

CyrixZ's guide to Metroid Prime found on gamefaqs.com
Can use the money saved by downloading their free .txt guides to pre-order a new game or buy a couple $5 Circuit City games.

I have two: the Prima one with the MP/Metroid: Fusion combo I bought when Fusion came out and one by Versus Books, witch I got for around $6 new a few weeks back.
I'd definitely go with the Versus one just for Prime, it also came with a poster which I now have hanging. It goes through things step by step, has a lot of screenshots, and it includes information about the enemies you'll face. It's also printed on very good gloss paper stock (IMO anyway).
But the Prima one has the extra incentive of have 2 strategy guides in 1, so it would also be good to have (unless you don't own Fusion of course).
Anyway, I'm sure any of these guides will get the job done.

I didn't realize they had a versus guide for this game, I'll definately go with that one then.

Yep, it's definitely a good strategy guide. After some searching I finally found a pic of the cover so you'd know what to look for:

The free poster looks just like the cover, and it's especially great because there's not a huge Versus Books logo on it anywhere (like I can remember my MGS poster having).
