I was just going to go at like 7 or 8 but someone told me it would probably be sold out by then. When CoD2 was on sale when it came out I remember going in at like 10 and getting it. They still had an entire shelf full of the game too. And CoD2 came out closer to Black Friday than OB did. For you guys that plan on getting it, when are you going?

Be there an hour before opening. Seriously this is Black Friday, although not everbody will be going just for The Orange Box, plenty will pick it up.

Well like someone said they may not initially be there for the game but end up grabbing it in the mix of things so you may want to go like an hour before opening.. there is a Bestbuy by me that has a line 30 deep already as of 4pm mainly people after that laptop...

Personally, I would get there right before they open. Maybe 5 minutes before. The overwhelming demographic in a Black Friday crowd is crazy middleaged people who are too preoccupied with fighting each other over TVs than picking up something like Orange Box.

There is a huge line of idiots outside of my bestbuy right now. Oh what idiots.

I would have been there yesterday. You're never going to get it now.

I was going to buy it in store but decided to grab it online early today. It sold out online pretty fast, so perhaps that's a sign? I don't know.

Having experienced a Black Friday at Target, in the electronics section... I would say you might want to be waiting in line as early as you can. At Target, there were a lot deals on video games and we had quite a few copies... they were gone within several minutes. Madness!? THIS IS BLACK FRIDAY!

Last year they had Flight Simulator X for 24.99 I think and of course I got to bb at around 10am and there was plenty of copies. The orange box for the PC seems to be not as popular as the 360 version so I don't think there is a *worry* about not getting a copy. Heck I paid 37.99 pm from CC when it came out and I only ended up playing Episode 2 and Portal and a few matches of TF2... I mean it's a great package if your just getting into the Half Life 2 series but if you already have HL2, Episode 1, then your just getting another copy of those games, ep2, portal and TF2. Trust me, when Episode 3 comes out, there is gonna be a mega box set with everything that valve has put out over the years so you might want to wait until Episode 2 goes single edition or til the mega box set comes out in a few years.

The correct question was..."How soon do I need to get to Dick's Sporting Goods to grab the last pup tent, so that I can camp out at Best Buy overnight?"
i ordered it online - and right after submitting my order, it sold out and now i'm back ordered. you'll probably have to be there fairly early.

All the hardcore PC crowd has it already. I'm sure people will be buying it, but people won't be stabbing each other for it like they will for TVs and Laptops. I bet you walk in at noon and grab a copy no problemo.

if this was marked at 29.99 instead of 24.99 then you could have used that 10 dollars of 29.99 or higher and got it for 19.99. Now that's a good deal right there.

I'm hoping to pick this up tomorrow too. Kinda bothers me that it sold out online...I'll probably go sometime before noon or something...

I walked into BB today and bought it. There were probably a few of them; I didn't see exactly how many. The BB in my town was crowded but had plenty of copies of games...more than I thought. (I even got Super Mario Galaxy as there were plenty of copies of that!).
I don't think there is sky-high demand for PC games today as there are for TVs or the more expensive electronics.
Shouldn't there be a store locator tool for those "last minute" people on the Orange Box listing on the BB web site that tells you if a local store has one in stock?

I won't go into my Best Buy or Circuit City anymore, just due to the crazy number of people who go there and how unorganized everything always is. There are always hundreds of people in line at like 2-3am, and by the time it opens, there are always two lines forming wrapping around the building. Pretty much at my Best Buy anyway, if you don't get in and get in line within 5 minutes, you'll be waiting in line for over 2hrs. I was actually going to get Orange Box, and then I remembered how stupid all of this is anymore :P

my BB was surprisingly empty around 7am. They had tons of copies of Bioshock, the orange box, WoW, Guild Wars etc.

I stopped in around mid afternoon on Friday. Still about 8 copies left of Orange Box and 30+ Bioshock. They didn't have any copies with the orange cases though, those are ugly but clever marketing. Would have rather picked up that color just for kicks.

For some reason, the local Best Buy didn't actually put up any in-store signs advertising the PC game sales. I stopped in at 7:30 on Friday, saw the lack of signs and ~15 copies, then saw the 50-deep person line for checkout. Came back at 9:00 that night, and it looked like no one had bought any of the Orange Box or Bioshock games that day.
