I accidently left the fork in the microwave while I was cooking my lunch, will this cause future health problems, since I ate the food the fork was touching?

No... the only thing is it could have caused a fire.

Not that I know of, but you should've gotten a pretty light show.

I left an Arby's wrapper on a sandwhich once in the microwave.. it caught fire.

ohhhh just found this... Harmful the the oven... not you

Microwave ovens can definitely be harmful if used improperly. Microwave radiation can pass through plastic and glass, but it'll reflect off of metal. If you put a metal object (such as a metal bowl or fork) into the microwave oven, this can cause the microwaves to reflect back to the source that produces them (called the 'magnetron'), and can result in considerable damage to the oven. (The metal wiring in the glass window of the door keeps the microwaves from leaving the oven, but doesn't reflect them back to the source.)

I once put a KFC corn-on-the-cob in the microwave, and the wooden corn holder set on fire.

God you guys are dumb... you're supposed to take the wrapper out of the microwave as soon as it sparks... at least that's what I did  Seriously though, doesn't it look like that arby's wrapper is just paper, oh well no major damage from that one fortunately, and my sandwich survived as well.

Did nothing happen in your microwave? No lights or sparks or anything? You got pretty lucky then.

I was like 10 at the time. I was kinda like "Whoa, cool!" for a minute, then I was like "AHH! Dinner!"

The only thing that I've ever put into the microwave that had an 'interesting' reaction was an old melmac plate that was my grandmothers. For those who don't know, melmac was a hard plastic that was quite popular for cheap dishware in the 50's and 60's. The planet that Alf came from was named after it.

Anyway, the plate exploded. And when I say exploded, I mean*exploded*. It turned into thousands and thousands of tiny splinters of sharp plastic. There wasn't a single piece left that was large than a toothpick.

I'm guessing that this is the reason that melmac dishware is no longer manufactured... :P

i always leave my metal forks/spoons in the bowl while microwaving, and so far, nothing has exploded and i don't think the radiation had done anything to me..yet.

I was maybe 10 or 11 at the time, and thought that some reheated pizza would be good. I put it in the microwave, and being the brazen young man I was, I set the microwave for 5 minutes. For one piece of pizza.

I walked away for maybe two minutes, and came back to see it sizzling. "No big deal", I think. When I came back from watching TV the second time, I see smoke coming out of the microwave. I poppped it open to see the pizza smoking and lit on fire.

I snatched the plate the pizza was on and ran for the door, just as my mom happened to be outside. Must have been an interesting site to see me running full boar out of the house with a piece of lit-on-fire pizza over my head, screaming like a banshee and then thowing it into the driveway.
