I rencently saw Donnie Darko and loved it. I want to buy it, but isn't there a Limited edition out or coming out? Or was this just released in Europe. Also is ghost in the shell stand alone complex series worth getting ? I was going to pick up the l.e. ghost in the shell s.a.c. from bestbuy with the 20% off anime. Thanks in advance.

The first 3 episodes of Ghost in the Shell S.A.C aren't anything special. They are not connected to one another and don't really matter. If you can stick it out until the 4th episode, then it gets really interesting with the whole "Laughing Man" plot line. I like it better than the Ghost in the Shell movie.

I just looked up the UK special edition of DD, and there doesn't seem to be many extras that aren't in the American release.

Yea I heard kind of negative reviews about Ghost in the shell SAC. $30 for volume 1 limited edition is a bit steep.

Cool, I'll probably snatch up the regular movie then. The reason I was interested in this was because Siskel and Roper ( don't think I spelled that right ) reviewed the L.E. edition so assumed it was out or coming out.

Not to nitpick, but Siskel is the one who died of brain cancer. It's currently Ebert and Roper.

they are rereleasing the movie theatrically as a special "director's cut" or something, so i'm sure that eventually there will be a newer, more fancy dvd release.

Actually the Director's Cut is already out in a limited release.
