If you're serious about being intimate with this girl, ask her when she got her last STD test. You'd be surprised how many sexually promiscuous people haven't.

Basically, look for anything that looks like pimples in the pubic region. Also, as earlier posters mentioned (partially in jest), an odd odor from her crotch is generally a bad sign as well, if not of disease, at least cleanliness.

As for the test, as you asked in a later post, many health centers will give one for free or a nominal fee. If she's a student, her health center should offer the same thing. And, even if you think you've been safe, it may be worth your time to get one yourself. Helps to give you peace of mind and let's you answer if someone ever asks you.
