View Full Version : Can we have Video Game Deals Forum separated by store
I think this would really improve CAG. I'd love to see the Video Game Deals forum broken up into forums for each store,
i.e. Video Game Deals
- Video Game Deals Best Buy
- Video Game Deals TRU
- Video Game Deals Target
- etc
Or at least break it up into 2 forums
i.e. Videogame Deals
- Online Video Game Deals
- B&M Video Game Deals
Trying to find video game deals in the 1 video game deals forum can be very difficult and tiring as you sort through deals from so many different stores, many you're not interested in, for instance stores without locations near you, etc. I think breaking the forum up into a few forums (like it is when you click on Nintendo, Sony, MS discussion) would greatly help the CAG community. PLEASE consider this.

That's about the dumbest thing I've heard all week.
So you find browsing through 35 small text links (in the form of sentences) per page as very user friendly and easy to browse through on a daily basis? And then another 35 on the next page and so on. Where probably 50% of the deals you're not interested in and you have to browse through anyways. You wouldn't want to click on Video Game Deals and have it bring up a Forum for the online deals and a forum for the B&M deals, or have it bring up a forum for each store. It would be much easier when you're searching for deals at specific stores. Better yet, the regular forum could still exist and these could coexist. But ya I know what you are, you're just a ***** lamer who should *** and make the world a better place for it.

I don't like your idea either, OP. It'd just be a lot of unfrequented forums and maybe missed deals, as most people care to look at all possible deals (I know I do). Perhaps a better suggestion would be to give the option to tag or keyword a thread (like an online Best Buy deal would have an "online" tag and a "Best Buy" tag) and then find things by tag.

That would be hella tedious to go through
maybe the B&M and Online deals, maayybee, but usually OP's just state it in the thread title.

Deals by system would be more logical. (Saves me the time to not have to sift through a bunch of deals on a system I don't have or don't really play). And then a General Deals section for those "Buy one and punch a store clerk in the face" deals.

I don't like this idea, but the store name should be included in the title and a B&M thrown in if the deal is B&M, etc.
I add that when I see deal threads that don't include it and the new deal forum guides are doing a great job of cleaning up thread titles as well.
It woulod be great if there was some way to filter deals by store, system, etc but I'm fairly certain the software doesn't support that plus the people creating the threads would have to add tags or whatever properly for it to work. But it would be nice.
It's much more tedious to read every deal posted to find out if its online or B&M, what store its at, what systems it covers, etc. Why not keep the current forum and add the ones broken up so that people can save themself a lot of time and reading... I've seen this done on other forums and it greatly helped. I think people who have not ever seen it work in action may just write it off because they're so used to what they've used for years.

a while ago the store's threads were stickied... at least the more popular ones like Sears, Kmart, TRU, etc.
I personally found this to be pretty helpful as long as the OPs were frequently updated.
