I bought a PSP from a pawn shop. At the time I thought it was in great condition. Now that I have it, it isn't. There is a no return policy so I am screwed.
The door that keeps the battery in place is really loose, so when playing it turns off at random times because it becomes a little bit ajar. I tried taping it and this works decently but there are still times where it will just shut off because it pops loose a little bit (when I say little bit I am just talking a smidge. It doesn't pop completely off or anything).
Any ideas besides taping it really tightly to get this thing to stay on tightly?

Is it the battery or the battery door? Sounds like the battery is not staying in the compartment very well either. On my PSP slim the battery sits very snugly in the compartment whether the cover is on it or off. I think both can be replaced for not too much money- the cover obviously being cheaper than the battery. Maybe want to try finding a replacement cover?

Yeah I think the battery is coming loose a bit at times and it shuts the whole thing off. Taping the door keeps it in a bit better but still sometimes the battery must move a little bit and the whole thing shuts off.
This is the old PSP so not sure if that makes a difference. Will a new battery solve the problem in your opinion? That is definitely what the problem is, but taping it keeps everything a bit more snug.

Getting a new battery cover should solve the problem.

Do they sell just the doors at gamestop? or do I need to look on ebay or something.

I just picked up one of those shell type things and it seems to be working as it is holding the door in place and I can't bump it.
