Its been a tough year, but finally the PS3 outsells the Wii. I think this verifies that the only true negative aspect of PS3 was its price.

They held the lead for two weeks, and Wii is already back in the lead - which is what I had said when it first happened. Temp boost due to price drop + new color.
10/29 - 11/4
Wii: 37,617 - PS3: 17,434
11/5-11/11
PS3: 55,924 - Wii: 34,546
11/12-11/18
PS3: 39,178 - Wii: 36,230
11/19-11/25
Wii: 54,362 - PS3: 50,564
PS3: 163,100 - Wii: 162,755
Furthermore, if the week including 11/26-11/30 has Wii ahead, I would say it is quite possible that the PS3 DIDNT outsell the Wii in Japan in November

Ha. You can easily break those numbers up or squeeze them in ways so that either system comes out on top.
Either way, Sony had a good month.

Still, the system did pretty well for 3 weeks so far. Only lagging behind 4k in one week isn't that bad a number.
It does show that a $400 price was key, they really should have launched a model at that price point from the beginning.

well their PR department is stupid...
some of us CAGers coulda ran sony lol
people were making good arguments/ suggestions for sony.
i think they read our thread cause they did everything we suggested :)
but anyways im glad ps3 is doing well

Like dropping the price? You're some kind of genius, I guess, for "suggesting" that :)

the main thing is that Sony did well.. it could have been worse, if the price drop didn't even have an effect. The Wii is going to sell at its own pace, and the PS3 is going to sale at its own pace.
