View Full Version : My girlfriend is the most awesome, because she found me games

She works at a GS two counties over, and someone came in with some outdated stuff to trade in. She immediately called me, and told me what he had -- it was mostly garbage PSX sports games, but she gave him my # and he gave me a call.
After listening to a longwinded description of his burned PSX games that "played great," I was about to finally hang up after a few uncomfortable minutes of trying to get off the phone when he mentioned that he had a Super Nintendo with games he was going to sell.
"WCW, Smackdown, Madden..."
"Mmmhmm...well, that's not-"
"Killer Instinct, NHL '93..."
"-really anything I'm-"
"Super Mario World, Earthbound, X-Me-"
"What was that last one?"
"X-Men vs Spider-man?"
He had a system with 23 games he "wanted to get $100 for, but would give it to me for $80." Normally much more than I'd spend, but EARTHBOUND, and also he had SMW, Zelda, DKC, Super Punch Out, and a few other classics in there, plus a couple of minor sealed games; those four games and the system alone would be flippable for that, so I called back my girlfriend (since she's about an hour and a half away) and tried to get her to handle it.
She actually ran to an ATM on her break, and called the guy, who came into the store and dropped everything off. Its sitting at her house with her now, and she says everything is in great shape.
She is the best. <3

Because I was so specific in stating specficially who she was and where she works? I don't recall even mentioning a store name.
Other employees knew, didn't care, since its not like said shop actually BUYS or SELLS Super Nintendo games anymore.
Someone sounds jealous. :booty:

Well... wait.. that seems a little different. If the transaction your friend made and got fired for was for a PS3, I can understand that. A PS3 is something that GS would take, so making a side deal loses something for them.
However, if a sidedeal was made for things that GS hasn't taken in for close to a decade, I fail to see why that's a problem.
See the difference?

She works at a GS two counties over,
Did you meet her in a truth-telling contest?

Seriously, the store manager would buy crap from people all the time at my gamestop. When people would trade in stuff and then find out it traded in for next to nothing, he'd offer a few more dollars out of pocket if it was something he was looking for. Of course, he was also the best manager I ever had at any store since he'd basically been there so long he could close the store himself without any help. I'd pretty much be out of there by 9:15 every night.

Damn, I'm surprised she was able to do all that. I'm guessing she was the only one on shift?
Anyway, congrats! Definitely a good buy just for EarthBound alone.

"Mr. Rain could ruin your day."
I wanted to finish that for you. Not so much a grammer Nazi, but it made me smile.
Way to go with the SNES OP, great deal and girlfriend.
