I just found about this damn..

"In Monter Hunter, creatures from all walks of life coexist with mankind. The struggle to hunt or be hunted rules the world. Players face a variety of quests and battle against powerful beings either alone offline or with the aid of others in online gameplay. Objectives vary from defeating specific beasts, protecting a town or collecting items. Hunters are richly rewarded for every accomplished objective or efforts put forth during battle, allowing them upgrade weapons and equipment. The world continues to expand as difficult missions are successfully accomplished.

Key Features:

- Online and offline gameplay options - Up to four friends can play simultaneously online to hunt monsters and accomplish various objectives or choose to single handedly complete missions offline.
- Character customization – Players can create and modify their main character. Various customizable attributes include name, gender, hairstyle, face and voice
- Create your own unique equipment – Not only can weapons and armor be obtained by purchasing them, but can also be created from monster claws, scales and various materials collected
- Expanded online content – For additional replay value, new quests featuring unique sets of enemies and objectives can be accessed online. Special items will be rewarded to players for completing only these new missions."

The folk that have beta tested it - redgopher, where are you? - seem to think that it's pretty bad.

Hopefully they'll chime in soon.

Does anyone else see the problem with this sentence?

Unless 10 people is to be considered 'alot'.

So far everyone that has beta'd this game has given it a big thumbs down. The concept of it sounds cool enough...hopefully the developers will actually LISTEN to the complaints of the beta testers and fix all the problems. Then it might turn out alright.

I hope it turns out alright, because I like slaughtering big gigantic monsters with my friends.

It's a bit like PSO. a limited world chopped up into sections that you must explore according to mission requirements. I'm sure it'll be enjoyable in the same sense....aslong as they dont ask for a monthly fee, because it wouldnt be worth it.

i beta'd the game. its awful.

i think the control is what really set me off. its also very slow and boring.

thats jus my opinion tho...rent it and see for yourself.

i wouldn't pay more than $10 for the game.

on a positive note...the graphics look pretty good.

but a polished turd is still a turd.

awesome game...i beta tested tested and am anxiously awaiting its release...

online play is actually way more exciting than the offline beta...use of strategy is important, like setting up traps and bombs, using decoys, etc...there have been games with far worse controls, however, the controls just take some time getting used to...its kinda like a hack n slash/rpg...you spend some time building up your character, get rare items, customize your armor and weapons...in a fight though, its pure hack n slash...

I was one of the beta testers who didn't like it. Controls and camera were not that good and you had to do incredible amounts of farming whenever you wanted to upgrade your armor or weapons. Thumbs down.
