I teach math and am in the market to purchase a document projector. Even the cheapest portable cameras/lighting arrays run around $675 to start. I thought perhaps I could purchase a pseye camera and try to see if it could meet my needs by connecting it via USB to my laptop which I can connect via component cables to my LCD projecotr. I found an old joystiq article before release which said the PC couldn't recognize the camera. Is this still the case? Any current owners have any information? Thanks in advance.

FYI, the Xbox Live vision camera works on a regular PC.

The PSEye, I'm not so sure of.

The Vision Camera only works with MS software as well. It won't work with say Yahoo Messenger or AIM. Though, I have been curious at what I can pull off on my Ubuntu desktop (open sourse FTW!) heh

I got my vision camera working with Skype.

Since when? I was able to use it fine with AIM.
