I know the game has been out for at least a year now, but I just picked it up on clearence a few months ago.
Anyway, for me the definition of pure fun, "can't put it down" type of game is Lego Star Wars 2.
It's just one of those games where you sit and play for a few hours, and keep wanting to see what the next level is like. Yet you're also torn because you don't want to finish it too fast.
It's so simple and easy to play, and I love the cute, quirky lego animations and facial expressions that bring back such memories of the original (and far superior) triology.

LSW 1 and 2 are great games. made for kids but fun for big kids.
I know people who have bought these to play with his kids, and wound up playing on their own long after the kids have gone to bed!

I agree entirely! I've had both games for well over a year and have yet to get 100% on either. The replay value is extremely high.
Can't wait for Lego Indiana Jones this spring and Lego Batman in the fall.

I know people are going to call BS on this, but when I was younger I would imagine desiging a video game in my head if I was bored.
The idea I always came back to was a lego-style spiderman game - it's exciting to see something that existed as an idea in my head coming to life (we haven't seen spiderman yet but I have to think it will eventually happen)

Lego has the Spiderman license, they make Spiderman Lego sets, so Im sure we'll see a game.

I'd love to see a Lego Avatar and a Lego Marvel game.
Good luck, right?

A Lego Marvel game would rule. Just like the Starwars games, only with like every Marvel hero ever...

It'd sure beat the heck outta Ultimate Alliance with its load times.

I love this game to death although most will cry this is a "kiddie game". The collectibles and Star Wars nostalgia keep me, a 25 year old gamer, playing long after a "kid" would stop.

I thought the 2nd game was a bit too much of a collect-a-thon although I still enjoyed it. The 1st was magnificent!

I liked the first a little better than the 2nd as well.
Bought the game for something to play with the GF and ended up getting 100% on it as it was just fun.
