Or any trading cards in general (Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, etc.)? I've been collecting sports cards for about 7 years now (mostly basketball and football), and back when I started I used to buy packs like crazy every week hoping to pull something good. But then, for some reason, I just stopped buying cards (not because I didn't get any good ones). I don't really know why, but I just stopped. Now I'm older (and access to more funds) and recently I've been buying cards, not as much as when I was younger, and now I enjoy it again. Anyway, I'm just curious about who is into this hobby.

Same happened to me when I stopped. For no apparent reason I just quit. But I never picked it back up. I remember years ago when Mcguire was with the A's, I traded all my Don Mattingly cards for all of this other kids Mark Mcguire cards. Ahhh... the good ole days.

I used to way back in the 80's/early 90's. Then once packs started costing over $1.00 a pack, I quit. Back when I started, they were .50. I sold off a bunch awhile back, but still have about 13 binders full of early 90's basketball cards, if anybody wants them, I'd sell or trade them for games in a second.

I dunno why I stopped too. My parents would get pissed because there were cards laying everywhere. I had sections for most of the players. I dunno where they are now, im still looking for those 70 Jeter Cards :\.

I have a whole section in my closet filled with baseball cards from the late 80s early 90s. I remember I had a ton of frank thomas rookies when they were worth like 5 bucks a pop. I could prob use them as tp now.

I used to collect a few years back, but stopped because I found that I was getting addicted to buying them, like I am now with games.. Packs of cards now range from $3-$20 even more, which is too much for me... I would rather buy a game and know what I am getting rather than dropping $50 on the chance of getting crap...

Do you have any jersey cards or memorabilia cards? I'd be interested.

I remeber that Leaf Frank Thomas Rookie was always around $40 back when I collected. You saying it's down to $3.00 now? Holy crap. See, this is why I stopped collecting. Back when I started, it was an inexpensive hobby, packs were cheap and there were only 3 sets of cards to collect. When I stopped, some packs were up to $5.00 a pack, there were about 25 different sets to collect and the whole hobby turned into a money hungry business.

Holy crap. I used to collect cards with my dad, but then they got WAY too expensive. Anyways, I was looking on that site, and I know they'd go for less, but still, we have a couple Jeter 1993 SP Rookie cards and A Rod 1994 SP Rookie cards and they're going for $80 and $95. I think we have at least two of each.

I have tons of baseball and football cards from the 80's and early 90's and a decent amount of hockey and basketball cards from that timespan too.
Also have original Garbage Pail Kids cards from series 2-6, including some unopened boxes. With the new version of these coming out I was thinking of getting what I can now.
