Could not find where to enter the PROMO CODE. Although, I think I'll stick with NetFlix, although this seems good with games involved. Although, Netflix will probably always have a larger selection.

*EDIT: No games for rental yet, so it seems.

Okay, I got it to work.

Doubledown, I think it's on the first or second page when you register. This is a damn good deal.

Thanks....I just missed it the first time.

How easy is it to cancel after the 4 weeks? I will probably keep Netflix since they have a larger selection, but this is good for 4 weeks.

*EDIT: Looks like there is a Cancel my Membership link right online in MY ACCOUNT section

also, one bonus is that they get the special re-release editions of movies...Netflix usually just carries the original release (although they have had a few special editions) Not bad if they are quick....especially for $17.99 (with discount/promo code) Netflix is now $21.99 for 3 movies...although they have been pretty quick for me at least (more distribution centers throughout the US)

ok, i'm done....I like DVD's ;)

Wasn't there some lawsuit not too long ago that ended up in giving Netflix the patent to renting movies through the internet? I'm pretty sure they sued Blockbuster over this and Netflix won.

I'd be interested to know how long shipping takes. With Netflix I get 1-2 day shipping and it's great. But this seems a little cheaper, and if they get to the same selection, this might be a better deal if it's just as fast.

I can't get the promo to work. When i put it and go to the next screen it asks me to put a valid promotional code. I think it might be dead now. When i get to the next screen it still tells me i only have a 2 week trial even though i put the code.

EDIT - I exited and tried it again and it works fine now. Thanks!

Not sure about the lawsuit, but the selection seems decent. At least they rent the WIDESCREEN versions over the crappy P&S dvd's (of course Netflix does too). Not sure what the B&M stores rent anymore, I know for a while it was only P&S, haven't been to an actual BB ina while. And as I said, they have some re-release special editions.

Shipping is the key though

Wow, it took them ONE day to ship 2 of the 3 DVD's I had on my list. I'm pretty impressed. We'll see how they keeep it up for the month...and if the selection and availability stay up. Not too bad though....cheaper than Netflix by a little.

Has anyone had this trial for a few weeks? If so, how long does it take to get your DVDs? I also have a dvdavenue.com account, and if I return both my dvdavenue.com movies and my blockbuster.com movies on the same day via the same blue mailbox, I'll usually get my next batch of movies from dvdavenue.com in the mail on the same day blockbuster *tells* me they're shipping out more movies. So basically dvdavenue is twice as fast as blockbuster, at least for me.

Of course I live close to dvdavenue's shipping location, but still... blockbuster is just too slow for some folks. And they don't yet include games in their online rentals.

If you do sign up for the trial, don't forget to cancel before the trial is up to avoid the monthly fee.

It's all relative - it depends on where you live

Haven't recieved my movies yet, but I like it so far. They even shipped some movies on Sat

I ordered my movies Wed. night and was told I'd have them on or by Sat. They showed up on Friday. :)

I ordered on Wednesday and got them Friday. I have a distribution center about 150 miles from me, so that's pretty cool.

For only $17.99 a month, I think I'll be keeping this. You can't beat this deal.

What! You only can rent movies? I think I'll just wait until they include games before I sign up and try this service. I'll just stick with netflixs for now.

Yes, onyl movies....I have a feeling that they will eventually add games too. Hopefully they do not charge more. I'm still torn between this and Netflix though. Netflix seems to have a greater selection, but blockbuster also has some titles Netflix does not. Blockbuster is also about $4-$5 cheaper now that Netflix raised it prices to $22/month.

Both ship from Lansing, MI for me, so the turn around time is about the same....

I would expect Blockbuster to have a surplus of new and current releases (kinda like in-store with the guaranteed in stock policy), but online it's the exact opposite. Short to Long waits for most new movies, whereas Netflix has no wait at all.

Stick with Netflix - better selection, better availability.

I had signed up for the 4 week trial, and cancelled yesterday.
but it actually ends today 9/9. They accepted my cancellation without any problems, and I have until 9/19 to return whatever I have out. Further still I had sent a movie in that they recieved AFTER I had cancelled my account. But since my account does not officially end until today, they sent the next movie I had in my queue anyways. Pretty nice I thought compared to the others. I found the turnaround to be slightly faster than netflix (manhattan).
Once you cancel, they come back with a slightly better offer of 15.99/mo if you sign up for 6 months, so if your staying with it for a while- thats the way to go.

Yeah, it was ok for a month free...but the new releases usually have a short-long wait always. Netflix will actually ship Monday for new releases.

On another note....anyone ever try to get Netflix to pricematch a different offer? Or threaten to cancle and they give you a better offer?

Actually, I'm very happy with Blockbuster Online. So happy, in fact, that I'm sticking with them.

I get my movies two days after it ships, it's cheaper than Netflix and you get two free rentals a month in store.

With all those positives, I see no reason to switch to Netflix.

when you sign up for the trial do they send a authorize charge to your credit card, like gamefly does?

they give you the 2 e coupons for movies you have to have that day. But I receive the movies the day after they ship, so new Tues releases I get on Wed.! not bad I say, I will stick with them for a month or so more.

YEah, now that I think of it....I may just switch to Blockbuster now too. I cancelled the account and they offered me $15.99 for 6 months. $6 cheaper than Netflix. The wait time is about the same....seems Netflix may have more inventory, but that will change. and hopefully BB will carry games soon.

I threatened to cancel Netflix....I'll see what they do
