Does filing an MCR even do anything? There are far too many stories of MCRs being filed, and then nothing ever being done. Sounds fishy to me.

I've filed probably 6 MCRs since starting this site, not once has one ever been denied or not gone through. They take time and some people don't email Trainn asking about status and things like that. People start flipping out and post here when they don't go through.

I always email about MCRs 10 days to the day after filing. I've had only 2 go through sooner than that.

OP I think answers all these questions. Cancel in like a week, it's a 13 day trial so just wait a bit. Phone number is in the OP. Call say "I want to cancel" and they'll ask questions and do the rest. Good luck!

Yeah, that's probably your best bet. Getting the Rock Band guitar by itself is a prety big waste since the GH2/3 guitars work just as well if not better.

Just got the weekly Gamestop newsletter, I didnt order it from them (am getting it from traiinn) but they state Turok is shipping tomorrow (1/30). It's definitely not a mistake as it's not a list but an ad type of thing, must be an EB exclusive as its still Feb 5th on Amazon. Maybe that will change tomorrow. Would be nice to see if Trainn get on the ball early with it.

I can't say for sure, since I did the old Dr. Seuss, but some people have been saying the new Dr. Seuss hasn't been coming with the cancellation link in the email, so maybe they closed that loophole. Its still potentially a free offer, but you just have the hassle of returning the books after you receive them to get a refund (which takes a couple weeks).

GHIII is a different beast than any game on this site. Shipping soon means you're probably going to go out at the next batch. I would guess next week, at that point you can expect it anywhere from 3-10 days from then. As to giving you a more succinct estimation, its not possible because of how erratic their shipping can be with GHIII.

Don't ever expect a tracking number from this site, they don't provide them, but if you email them a few days after the shipping email they can track the shipment and I know people have asked for the # before and received it, they just don't provide them upon shipping.

Reviews can be a bitch. They usually take around 4 days (not business, just 4 days). Sometimes you can get lucky and be approved in a day or two. Sometimes you can get unlucky and go 5-7 days :-( But the few times I did it, they seemed to be exactly 4 days.

As dcgm said, a while back people had some problems with this. I think it was in Amazon's computer system though. Basically, people who were selecting that it was a "gift return" were having it marked as a regular return, and Amazon was giving the credit back to Trainn.

I'm actually considering attempting this again myself, because the GH3 I received on Wednesday was kinda beat up, and the box (the actual GH3 box, I mean) is warped like it wasn't packaged correctly.

I'm probably going to call Amazon and see if I can somehow get them to credit the money to my Amazon credit card, since I've just ordered a shit ton of stuff from them, and I really don't need a $100 gift certificate. I'm hoping there's something they can do for me.

doesn't matter if you canceled already, esp. if it was within the terms. if you deleted the e-mail, not sure why you did:roll: then you are out of luck in filing an MCR for it, sorry!

it's b/c this site is horrible with cookies. You have to manually delete the cookies for the site before you can go to the original login screen etc.. or log out and close out your browser and that sometimes works for me.

I had a similar experience, two days to confirm was great, but there is an option in the help section when you go to e-mail them for the sole purpose of not getting all your sign-up/trial credits, so I'd imagine it is a common problem. I filled it out the other day and still haven't got an e-mail back.

Usually I just file the MCR and the credit pops up in 10 business days, so 2 weeks normally. Actually, come to think of it, all of my MCRs have been done in 10 business days.

I ordered DMC4 the day they put it up. It's still in "pre order", they never order games until the release date has hit.

They don't change status until the games release date has come, I would imagine they'll start changing the status to either Shipping Soon or Shipped the next order day this week. My guess is Wed or Thurs, with a slim chance for tomorrow.

No. They say tracking numbers will be sent if available.

If you've gotten a shipped email and its not there in a week, email them directly and they can check up on it. They definitely have everything tracked, but they never provide the # but can check it for you. Some people have reported requesting a tracking number and they've provided it, but they don't automatically do it.

We're all guilty of it and I totally understand it from the newb perspective (I was there too). I went through this thread and a few old ones, and heres some answers to very common questions. Feel free to quote it, add to the OP, whatever. These questions are asked pretty much daily, so maybe this will help subside that a bit, they are not covered in the FAQ that Rig posted.

ORDER FAQ

Does Trainn provide tracking numbers?

No. Although the site states that a tracking number will be provided if it becomes available, the majority of the regular users of this site have never received one. However, considering the majority of their orders are from retailers, you can email Trainn if you feel your order is late or hasn't arrived and they can look into it for you. There have also been reports of people receiving tracking numbers by requesting them directly from Trainn, but that is definitely YMMV.

I ordered ____ on (day). When will it get here?

None of us can answer this with a definitive answer. Trainn doesn't work like a retailer. Using information from the regular users, it seems that they have specific days of the week that they place orders, but it changes at times. Once shipped, you can expect your item to arrive anywhere from 3-10 days.

Note on Guitar Hero III

This game is an exception to the above. There have been reports of it taking weeks-months to receive once you put the order in. This is getting better lately, but there is still a delay from the norm with this game because of it's popularity amongst users on the site.

Where do they order the games from?

They order the games almost exclusively from Amazon. On occasion if a game is very popular (i.e. the 2007 holiday season and GHIII) they will order from other vendors, like Circuit City, or even shipped directly from Trainn themselves.. This is not the norm though. Most of the time they will be from Amazon.

How do the games ship?

Almost exclusively UPS, like the vendor question though, there are exceptions. There have been reports of games arriving via FedEx and DHL, but again, these are exceptions to the rule. If you're ordering a "regular" game, 9/10 times it will come UPS via 1st or 2nd day air, and same with GHIII, most of the time it's UPS, but there are exceptions.

1st or 2nd day air? WTF?! You said above that I shouldn't expect it for 3-10 days!

This applies to the somewhat "erratic" way that Trainn processes orders. Even if you receive a shipping email on say Monday, it's not guaranteed to have been ordered/shipped from the vendor yet. The regular users have come to see this as the day the order was placed, but not necessarily shipped. Rest assured, your game is likely in the next queue to go out, and it will be to you shortly. Again, there's always exceptions. The author of this FAQ once received a shipped email on a Wednesday, and the game on that same Friday. However, most of the time it's about a week to arrival from the shipped email. There also seems to be multiple order days per week. It just depends on when the game is physically shipped, not when you receive the shipped email.

What game should I order?

You're on one of the best video game communities on the Internet, head over to the dedicated 360 section and read some user opinions, or go on over to a review site like IGN, Gamespot, or TeamXbox and read some reviews. Don't limit yourself when trying to choose. If you're on the fence about an order, you can always stack your credits and wait until something comes along that is what you really want.

When does ____ come out? When will Trainn add ____?

Amazon is very reliable with release dates for the most part if the game/item has a definitive street date. Just search for the item on there and look at the description, you can even see future dates for preorder items on the search results. The 360 section here has threads dedicated to many games, and chances are the release date will be in the first post of that thread or even in the subject. Trainn normally updates 1-2 times per month, however this is not scheduled and tends to be different every month. They usually will add the next months releases in an update, but there are occasions when they will get things that are pretty far out from release. If the recent posts are talking about an update, chances are theres some new choices.

The people from "Grant Consultant" have called me 32 times since I signed up with them. They will not answer the number that shows up on my caller ID, and the number they give to cancel is actually disconnected. I tried cancelling online and have yet to hear a response.

Also, the one time I actually answered the phone from Grant Consultant I was leaving for class. I told them I couldn't talk as I was actually on my way out going to my Ethics class. They called back 2 minutes later.

The number is back up, 1-888-868-0848. I canceled and they actually gave me a conf# this time.

It was the tenth last month but hopefully it doesn't take that long this time. Since everyone is desperately waiting for the update, what do you plan on getting?

I've got 4 credits right now so I will definately get MLB 2K8 and probably Vegas 2.

Edit: Those are both coming out in March but should still be in this update, any suggestions on good games coming out more recently? Febuary sucks, no baseball or football so I need something to get me to March.

Only some. Quickbooks, Increase Your Margin, Google SEO, and any other offers by that same company (handled by Pacific Webworks) will accept Paypal Virtual Single-Use credit cards. Some offers won't take a prepaid or virtual card.

It took my GH2 two days to get here from the time of the e-mail and my GH3 like five days, and it looked like it lost a fight with a polar bear en-route. I think they ship 2-day usually, but the shipping companies sometimes suck at life.
