Ok, so I signed up with zooba.com and it kept giving me errors. I just checked my CC and they've charged me $1 twice. Any idea on what I should do? I never got an e-mail from them, so will I get credited?

Probably not. Your card was probably not accepted. You could also try calling them via the #'s in the OP and asking them what went wrong.

If it goes through, right after the CC part you get a "welcome to teh Club" screen, and pretty much immediately get a welcome email and can log into your Zooba acct, etc.

You should wait or call them. Your $1 charges are just pre-authorizations and a lot of retailers on the internet does this and they are released back to you in a few days. Don't bother asking them to release them to you, they can't.

Has anyone had any luck returning the Amazon.com orders to Amazon for credit? There's nothing on the site I want right now but wouldn't mind ordering and returning another GH2 for credit to Amazon.com.

I'm just nervous the credit may accidentally not get applied to my Amazon account.

Yes, that's fraud. For the sake of freebie sites EVERYWHERE, just make sure you cancel. It'd be appreciated by all of us in the long run.

Don't exaggerate. Some of you blow so much of this stuff out of proportion it's borderline ridiculous.

No. It's not fraud. Fraud would be if he was still getting the service and using fake or stolen #'s. If he leaves the old card on, they just won't be able to charge it and his service would be cancelled by them. It's not the same thing as using stolen credit cards. Fraud means he'd be getting the service still, and when he initially signed up, the card was good.

I'm not condoning leaving it up. If you know you're not going to be able to pay for the service, they would end up cancelling it for you, but it's hardly a big deal to pick up the phone/shoot them an email, saying you don't want the service anymore.

It's not fraud though, not even close. The chance of Trainn or any other site like it losing an offer because of this situation is slim to none. Someone getting a new credit card and neglecting to change the # or decided not to go forward with the service and let it lapse is just laziness and silly to accuse or even compare it to fraud. I'm sure hundreds of people using these freebie sites have let things lapse and probably even more have actually defrauded.

It's not fraud. Your acct would just lapse. You're just lazy. Do yourself a favor, call them or email them and tell them after your trial membership is over you don't want the service any longer.

That's absolute crap. It is NOT fraud. At the absolute most, it's against the TOS, but all he's considering doing is letting the membership lapse. When he signed up the card was GOOD. Where in the TOS does it say anything about memberships lapsing?

1. He signed up for Stamps.com with a legit credit card, at that time, at the time of the trial, the card was good.

2. That card expires. Stamps has already been "paid" for that first month/trial of service.

3. The trial is over. Expired card gets declined, Stamps cancels the service.

It's just letting his membership lapse. It's not fraudulent to do that. Fraud would be if he was still getting the service AFTER the card lapsed.

What if he's paid for 1 month of service? Then on the day the payment for the NEXT month is due the card gets declined? The service STOPS.

Quit making shit up and blowing things out of proportion, while what you say is true regarding cancellations etc, it does not apply to this guy and his Stamps situation. Being LAZY is not fraud.

When I first signed up for the site, I placed my first order for the Guitar Hero III bundle. I ordered it about a week or 2 before it was to be in stores. I was hoping to have it as soon as it came out. It didn't show for another 2 weeks after, but it did come. It also came from Red Octane so I got all the extra goodies. So even though it took about 4-6 weeks it came & cost me only $10 (gamefly & simply you), I was thrilled. I started telling everyone about the site and quickly had about 6 referrals.

I placed my next order back on Dec. 1st. This time around I ordered a Halo 3 Spartan Controller. I was going to use it as a Tournament Prize at a LAN Party I was helping to run on Dec. 15th. Yeah I should have ordered it a bit sooner, but I figured 2 weeks should be plenty of time. 1 week to process and it would be shipped the following Mon-Tues and should be there by the Thurs before the LAN. Well I waited and waited and no sign of it. Finally that Friday night I went to my local BB and had to purchase one. I figured I would just return the one from Train to BB when it came.

I created a support ticket on Dec. 21st to find out if they could track it down. Almost a week later (Dec. 26) I got the following response:

I am sorry to hear your controller has yet to arrive and apologize for the inconvenience.
Once shipped, items typically arrive within 3-5 business days, however, some have taken as much as 10 days to arrive.

Hopefully my controller shows up today along with my Rock Band game. And they do the update this week.

I hear you. I wait 3 weeks on my GH3 bundle, only for them to tell me that I will have to wait forever. I ask if I would receive GH2 sooner, and they said it should ship very soon, in comparison to GH3.

I have been stuck at the shipping soon status for my GH2 for the past two weeks, and at this rate, I should have kept it on GH3, because I ordered my GH3 bundle on the 7th of Dec.

What if I didnt cancel within 24 hours and waited the 5-7 till I got credited then I assume it will probably be a partial refund from Scholastic. Since by that time it will be too late to click on the 24 hour link and your only hope is to return the items. Notice how they say your stuff will arrive within 2-3 weeks.

Yeah, this company IS kinda shady. The fee you are paying is for the S&H for the trial of those diet pills. You ARE set on an automatic renewal. I'm not sure if it's a 7, 10, or 14 day trial. Basically if you do not cancel before that day you will be sent another bottle & automatically charged.

If you continue to go through with this offer, one thing to keep in mind since you are dealing with your checking account and not just some credit card--Make sure you e-mail them if & when you want to cancel and state that you do NOT authorize them to withdrawl from your account any longer. This way, in the event they do, you have proof and they can get into some legal trouble. When you threaten places like this when canceling.. you are pretty much guarenteed they WILL cancel your request and you shouldn't have much trouble from them.

24-48 hours...Look for a e-mail (prob in your spam/junk folder) from scholastic.

Hopefully since everyone is saving their credits it seems that will allow trainn to catch up on some orders :). Hopefully that update comes by this sunday night at the latest.

After about a month I have finally recieved a game from Trainn. I had originally gone with Guitar Hero III then I ended up cancelling that and going with Rockband. Took a while for the whole process to finally come through.

Now I need to start getting some credits as I havent been really active with the site for a while. Have a few quick questions:

1. How long did it take for "bargain.com" to credit?

Well for a game like Lost Odyssey I would wait for reviews AND possibly a demo being available on XBL. That's what I'm going to do. I have Eternal Sonata (which I got from this site) and I LOVE that game.There's a demo on XBL, so def try it out. It's an awesome game without a doubt :applause:

EDIT: Called back again and cancelled, told them I didn't like being signed up and getting no email or confirmation and she cancelled it. She told me to just to take the package back to the post office and have it sent back when it gets here.

It wasn't in my spam. I use the Mail Application, which is just like Outlook except for Mac, and I looked in my account and my spam every day. I searched through all of my emails with the terms "Disney" "Book Club" "Scholastic" and nothing came up. Oh well, I get a whole load of nothing from stupid Disney.

don't sweat it, those two don't even have confirmed release dates yet, I would bet on new offers coming on the site well before GTAIV or NG2 are on there. You'll have time and the chances to do other offers.

Thats how I look at it. Those two you mentioned are the two Im probably most hyped about this year, but I've been using this site since about September/October now and Ive not had a lack of offers yet when theres something I want.

Well Zooba finally replied after 2 emails and they said they can't cancel until I have purchased 3 books from them. I went searching in their FAQ and Terms of Service and it states you can also get refunded and cancelled if you send the first book back, funny how the email didn't state this option...

So I replied with that and asked how to return my book.

EDIT: They replied and said I could return it and everything would be cancelled and refunded. However, they said they can't accept it if the package was opened. I opened it because I knew nothing about having to cancel only after 3 books were sent. I managed to put every back in it and everything looks fine except it was opened on the perforated part on the box. Should I try to tape it and send it back or something?

Or, it says nowhere that I can find that the package was not allowed to be opened. Should I tell them there it doesn't say it has to be unopened?

EDIT 2: Decided to email them the truth and tell them it doesn't state that it can't be opened. Either they will let me send it back or else I have to look for 2 more books to receive. I am considering using PayPal or GCs in the future because of the experiences I have had with my last two offers. Both Yahoo Success and Google SEO screwed me over big time by trying to bill me the monthly fees even thought I cancelled before the trials were up. They eventually took the billings off of my CC, but it was a complete pain in the ass calling these people up, filing disputes with my CCs, etc. Dont get me wrong, I got $500+ worth of free stuff from the site last year, and 80% of the offers I completed were easy to cancel and never tried to bill me, but I think I might have changed my stance on using CCs on the site.

As for the update, I'm not sure what to jump on. DMC & Turok possibly, but nothing is really screaming 'must have' right now. I seriously never even heard of Jumper or Conflict. I need to look at when these games actually release before I place an order. I dont want to "preorder" any of these games at this point.

You should just have to install it. You might as well print it though, free stamps.

Make sure you cancel before the trial is up. And after 10 days file a MCR.

This happened to me. When the card is denied an authorization charge still goes through. It's just a hold, it will drop in 7-8 days. Sometimes sooner.

I got instant credit for disney well took about 5 minutes :) when i did it about a week ago.

You can get the Rock Band game and the GHIII bundle, and use your GHIII guitar to play both the GHIII and Rock Band games.

For this reason, you should not waste credits on the shoddy Rock Band guitar.

The newer versions of the Rock Band guitars are much more reliable, so try to keep the flaming to a minimum. As a guitarist, I personally like the feel of the Rock Band guitar better since it does a fair job reproducing the feel of an actual Stratocaster. For one thing, the neck is thinner, which is beneficial to people with smaller hands. Add this to the glossy finish, and it provides better playability.

The strumbar does not "click" like the GH guitars, but I actually like how it only needs to be flicked/plucked, and actually has resistance. The second set of buttons also becomes very useful on songs with harder solos, so you can execute hammer-ons and pull-offs. It's not a perfect guitar controller by any means, but it's not like the GH3 controller is without fault (detachable neck anybody?).

I used 2 different CCs to sign up for these (Chuck Mullaney and Google SEO) within a couple days of each other. When I called to cancel, the guy on the phone pulled up both accounts under my name and I told him to just cancel both while he was at it. He actually suggested it before I even told him I was going to cancel. "Do you want me to just cancel both of them?" :D

If the game is coming from Amazon (99% of their games do) its going to come 1st or 2nd day air, most likely 2nd, via UPS. I've not had any games come any other way.

Do not take the shipping email as concrete evidence that the game has shipped either. Only once (out of about 9 times now) have I had a game arrive 2 days after the shipped email. Most of the times it's a 3-5 day wait from the shipped email. I've had to wait 8 days once, but they always are sent 1st or 2nd day air. 1st day seems to be when they know they're shipping late, but 2nd is pretty much the standard. What's funny is I live within about 200 miles from an Amazon warehouse and you can check the receipt to see when they put the order in. Rarely does it go in on the day I get the shipped email, most of the time its a day or 2 after. I think when shipped emails are sent, your order just goes on a "to do" list and it goes out on the next shipping day (which varies every week).

Dr. Seus never sent any emails (i've called twice and both times they assure me they will send it out and never do) and for some reason I'm the only person that didn't get instant credit for Chuck teaches Ebay and all they sent was a cancelation confirmation email (again asked to send a email saying I had signed up for the program and they never did)

Has anyone been able to credit by showing the cancelation email as proof of membership. I've sent an email on updates for MCR and asked them If I could submit a concelation email as proof, just curious if others have attempted this.

I filled out the form for the disney thing late late thursday night (so its been about 36 hours) and NO confirmation email whatsoever, nor did I get credited. wtf do I do?

Also, stamps.com didn't credit either, so i guess i can try this MCR thing i read about on the first page

Call Scholastic. I filled out the form on Monday 1/7/08 and didn't receive an e-mail either (waited until Thursday). I called them up and their records showed that I didn't even order it...

Does anybody here know if you have a limited time to apply the 12 month Live card to an account? I don't own a 360 yet, but I'm going to get one in the next couple months, and I was thinking of grabbing a card from this site. I just don't want it to expire on me.

Whoa I just had a close call. According to my records I accidently went over my trial period for Dealmax by one day, fortunately for me, my records were off by a day :P.

In addition to that I figured I should note a couple things about the Dealmax offer. Dealmax does indeed have certain work hours. When I called to cancel they said that they were closed, but unfortunately I cannot remember the times that they said they were open. Although if you go to their site, you can cancel online, which worked for me. I don't know if it cancels the other offer, Your Savings Club, because I had already signed up for that trial when I did Privacy Matters. Apparently they don't automatically sign you up, if you have already used the trial before.

I would give you guys more, such as the hours and the cancellation page, but I can no longer access their site due to my account being cancelled.

I had problems with Disney and had to file a MCR. It took almost a month for the the MCR, but I finally got the credit. I emailed Trainn, and they said the problem was Disney not giving them the info.

Question about MCR: When you include full headers into the designated section, does the headers need to include the body of the email (the actual email) or just the headers?

And I don't think it matters which email either, either the welcome one or the cancellation confirmation one should work.

On a side note, I just ordered GH3, finally :bouncy:

I doubt you can get credit without some e-mail proof.

Best bet probably would have been contacting Bargain.com for e-mail verification before you cancelled, but it can't hurt to try now.

It won't. You'll be getting the payment to Gamefly back as its just a pre-auth. It takes a few days.
