Told you so.

In conclusion:

This adds the game gear games (which were available on the cube before, as unlockables in sonic adventure DX) and The Ooze and Comix Zone, which were present in the Japanese release of the collection but missing from the NA release.

Again: it's probable that emulating the Sega CD is a big hassle. Even if it's not, that platform only had one Sonic game, and the other two had much more. So is there any wonder Sega chose not to spend time on it?

IMO its worth it just for the sega sonic games and Comix Zone.

Dammit! I finally buy this for GC, and before I get around to playing it, they pull THIS on me...

Oh well.

I'd pay $20 just for sonic cd :(

oh well for $20 you sure as hell cannot beat SMC+. I bought the Cube version back when it first came out and I'll be dropping the cas for + as well.

I heard the emulation was crap from people who played it at E3

Maybe this isn't the place, but what's Sonic CD worth? I got one I don't play anymore.

write your congress representative and ask him to make it illegal for companies to improve their products.

There is a lesson to be learned here. If it comes out on any other system than the PS2 first, you are virtually guaranteed to get a version with more features when the PS2 version releases. Sony "encourages" developers to add more content to PS2 games that release on other systems first. That way PS2 owners are more apt to overlook the fact that they are buying a 3-6 month old game because they have stuff that the others don't. It's called exclusive content. Do some research and you will see this is not the first time this has happened.

I really wish Sega put the two arcade Sonic games in.

Does anyone remember Ristar? That game was awesome! Hopefully the emulation is solid, otherwise I won't even bother.

Thats a big list of games. I was always a Nintendo guy, so Ive never played the 2d Sonic games. I might have to pick up this collection.

Quick question - Is the PC version of Sonic CD worth picking up? I saw it recently for pretty cheap, but I know a lot of PC conversions from that time were pretty bad.

Why is this the kind of thing that requires an "Official List"?

What did you guys think of the DC Sonic game? Any reason that's not on here?

Gameboy415

I think Sega needs to release a Sonic Mega Collection 2 for those of us that bought the Gamecube version of 1.

Games that SHOULD be included:
Sonic CD
Knuckles Chaotix
Sonic R
Sonic: The Fighters (3D fighting arcade game)
SegaSonic the Hedgehog (trackball arcade game)

Hell they could even throw on some Saturn games like Clockwork Knight 1 & 2 and even Bug and Bug Too to balance it out.

Tell me you wouldn't buy it for $20-30.

They've already released those as stand-alone games on GC.

So that's your response whenever somebody points out one of your mistakes? That's the second time now.

What do you say when your mother corrects you?

Why can't they put sonic cd in? This game is no good without it

eldad9

Because that would require emulating a third platform. I thought we already covered this.
