Bluray/DVD playback on the PS3

Every time I play a Bluray/DVD on the PS3 the menu comes up. I will be watching it and about half way through the movie I will get the play, pause, stop, FF, and RR options. Some times I not only get this half way through the movie but every 15-20 minutes. The remote is not being touched and is usually put up so nothing does touch it. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it.

I had this happen to me, too. My problem was that one of my controllers (and just one) would send out a random signal every 15 minutes or so. Sometimes it would bring up the menu, sometimes it would skip the movie forward, etc. I just figured out which controller it was and made sure it was off during playback.

Yeah, I was just going to say make sure you turn the controller off after you push play and see if it still does it.

I thought about shuting it off thinking that it might have some how got touched one of the times it did it, but I just put it up. Thing is I should not have to shut it off in order to watch a dvd/bluray. I will try that next time thanks for the tip. I don't use it often seeing how most the Hi-def DVDs I buy are HD and I have no PS3 games. I bought the Bluray just so I could use my PS3 and I think Dr. Strange is only on Bluray and normal DVD. So unless I see the Bluray disc cheaper then HD or don't see it on HD chances are I will get it on HD even though I'm trying to mixup the collection. Guess the next few I will get on Bluray.
