OK so I just ordered an Xbox 360 Halo Edition, Blue Dragon & Guide, and Assasin's Creed from toysrus.com. At check out, $60.00 was taken off my order and it read this:

"Save $60 when you buy both the trampoline and enclosure -249.98 (309.98 if purch sep)! -$60.0"

Not sure if it's a mistake or part of some deal but I figured it was worth letting you guys know.

My guess is that they are going to cancel orders that get the $60 off.

Well, I gave it a shot... Added Uncharted and tried to checkout, but no discount. When I added Assassin's Creed and then went to checkout, amazingly, the $60 credit came up. I added in my $25 gift card that I got from them for Mario Galaxy and put in my order. I guess we'll see what happens. I assume it'll be cancelled, but $45 for two new games was too good a deal not to at least try. =)

Actually this is not entirely true, TRU only informed me regarding the order for my wii games being canceled but they mentioned nothing of the ps2 game. So I did get charged.

I have confirmation from google that my total is 6.18 for uncharted, if I am charged any more than that then it's easy to simply dispute it with my CC company.I was modest, ordered Bomberman Land Touch (which I've been wanting forever, though just went down on the list, as Mario Party DS is awesome fun wifi) and a TfT $5 donation. I got an authorization notice from Paypal for 3.20, but it isn't an actual confirmation from TRU. So far the only thing from TRU is an Order was Submitted email along with the notice that my order was recieved and is currently being processed.

We'll see. Huge slip up on their web side. And I doubt any of these will go through. In the meantime, lets all read up on proper trampoline safety.

My reasoning for not ordering a metric tonne of stuff is it will all be canceled. And if not I don't want to have to deal with the hassle of having hundreds (thousands) of dollars of charges to dispute.

When I saw this getting a DS Lite cheap was the first thing that popped into my head so that's all I'm concerned with.
I have such a huge backlog of games, by the time I get through them all the games I would have ordered here will be on clearance.

Also, I've been using paypal plugin lately. it's pretty cool other than when it pops up on sites i dont want it to. It automatically generates and fills in virtual credit cards. they also have a feature that lets you save the page as a receipt, so ive been doing that as proof.

I had that happen last year when I was ordering stuff off of stubhub. They had a coupon code for $20 off that was working multiple times, so I ordered multiple things. Eventually my card kept getting denied and I had to call them.

So I just spent an hour on the phone with CSRs.

First, if anyone remembers, I had the issue with my credit card company denying the charges due to suspicious activity. Since the email I received saying there was an error with the credit card said they would try to put the order through again, and I wanted to avoid having human eyes look at my order for as long as possible, I didn't want to call to have them put my order through again. I wanted to get the order moving as soon as possible so I called TRU to tell them that the issue was resolved and they said the order was canceled and offered to transfer me to someone who could replace the order. Sure enough right after I called I got cancellation emails. I thought for sure that I thought for sure that I'd be out of luck.

The person I was transfered to was very nice and helpful and was going to replace the orders (I wound up ordering two due to the error) but when she said the price for the DS I said that earlier it came up cheaper. She looked and said that yes it did ring up cheaper earlier and thought it was weird that it was ringing up full price now. She thought maybe there was a sale and they sold out at the cheaper price. Her plan was to charge full price for the DS and then issue a credit once it ships. I liked that plan. 8-) However I got greedy and asked if she was going to place one order or two, she said she'd combine them as one order but then she wasn't sure that they would allow her to credit the difference on both. She thought there may have been a limit on the amount I could get. She put me on hold to check with her supervisors and then my cell died. :bomb:

So I called back and got some cocky sounding young guy. I thought "Oh shi--." I explained how my order was canceled and that there was a pricing problem and that I got disconnected while the other CSR was checking with her supervisor. He looked at my order and put me on hold to check with his supervisor. Then my cell dropped the call (fewer dropped calls my ass).

So I called back AGAIN (switched to a land line) and got someone who sounded like a very nice guy. I explained my issue and he looked at my order and said he had a similar issue yesterday. Turns out someone tried four times to order a DS yesterday but each time he ordered it would come back as out of stock. The CSR had argued with the stock... people saying that the website show them as in stock and the stock people just kept saying "we don't have any." Now he (the CSR) told me that it's very unlikely that the order would go through because they are out of stock of the item and that his supervisor said they wouldn't price match an earlier price that was canceled due to a credit error anyways.:roll:

The DSs being OOS made sense to me since when I checked my cancellation email they said the order was canceled because the items "are unavailable at this time." Plus on one page the DS bundles show "Available In Store Only" and the other as "Sure you can order online.":roll: No freaking wonder glitches like this occur.

Oh well... My Uncharted order is still green and I could probably sell that to make up what I would have saved on a DS and buy it locally, since I really wanted the DS.

Meh... Uncharted just canceled for the same reason. Well that was fun. I also got an email saying "Thanks for the Donation" on the donation I made with Uncharted. So that isn't an indication of the order going through.

Woot! woke up expecting cancellation emails instead got confirmation emails with the "discount" prices. Man if this really goes through it'll go down as the best deal of all time for me.

My guess is that since the glitch lasted only a short time and since SD and FW didn't have it posted at the time that they just decided to honor the few orders that came in rather than deal with some angry people. I'm sure most CAGs that ordered weren't assholes that did like 10 orders with multiple copies of the same game or whatnot. I just used the deal to pick up of some FF games that were missing in my collection, got FFT War of the Lions, FF1, FF2 and FF12 Revenant Wings.

UPDATE: Bah nevermind after getting all excited 1 of my orders was just cancelled :( and they don't even say it's because of a glitch they LIE and say the products are out of stock. Guess I'll just wait for the 2nd cancellation email and be done with this thread .

I got Amazon to honor the -$31 webcam from black friday.

I'm not even going to attempt to fight this one since I knew going in it was an error. And no, my last post wasn't me trying to fight for the error. I just wanted my chance, same as everyone else, then got caught up into it when I thought it would go through. Once I got a "No" I stopped. I really wish I wouldn't have gotten disconnect from the first lady though it may have been a good thing, since I might have end up paying full price.

Also it looks like the TfT donation was only $0.55, at least that is what showed up in the order info on toysrus.com.
Just looked and the TfT donation that went through was for $0.02. :roll: Looks like the discount was different depending on what else was ordered as on my DS orders it showed up as $0.55.

Gave her some sob story of how my gf ordered, and I was just inquring why it was canceled. She told me it was cancelled because "as per customer request" I asked again if that what it said, she repeated the same phrase.She needed an overide for that amount. I was transferred to a Mngr. and he gave me the speech on the trampoline deal, blah,blah. Ugh, I feel for you. This is why I hesitated in ordering anything that would cause me to charge my cc. I would call them and complain as to why the item was/is shown as available online. I dunno. I'm sure others have more experience dealing with this. Maybe calling your cc and getting a charge back.

If I placed an order for a camera and a mem card and the camera was oos, I should have the right to cancel my order as the mem card is no longer needed. Sure the example isn't exactly similar, but you placed one order and if that order cannot be fully redeemed, then your order has been compromised and does not adhere to your initial intentions. Technically, you are now forced to go out and purchase REUC, which defeats the purpose of your online order. But, I guess that is not how they see it....gl.

Did it actually complete, or is the status just "processing". They hold the funds when you intially make the order, but they wait for confirmation to go through before they actually complete the transaction. I doubt they will charge you the full price, you just have to wait for it to work its' way through the system.

But if it says "complete", then I would get on a dispute right away.

Nope. So far I've just gotten the Thank you for ordering from Toys R us notification eMail that you get right after you order. The status is still "Processing" on my TRU account and "Pending" in paypal (yet they've already taken the money from my paypal balance.)

Maybe mine was a little different because I caught it right when they put it into play. I know this because I kept adding and removing things from my cart, not being able to decide between a 360 and a PS3. Then suddenly when I added the 360 again, that trampoline -$60.00 notice in red was there. So I jumped right on it.

Even when I check my order email, and the order on TRU, it doesn't show anything about the trampoline or the $60.00 deduction, yet my total is still $60.00 cheaper than it should be. I think I lucked out. I hope so.

To answer a few questions.

@strikeratt Make sure that it isn't just a pending charge. Most of the time when you order something online with a credit card the put a hold on the funds and lower your available credit, but don't actually complete the charge until the item ships. I'm not going to worry about it until I get my next statement, then, if need be, I'll dispute the charges.

and @Zoryuken, the above applies to paypal too. As long as it says "Pending" the money isn't gone, it's just held. The account balance is reduced but they haven't transfered the money to TRU yet. A similar thing happened to me with the Amazon webcam deal. The funds were on hold for a week or so until the order was canceled.

And the donation was a way to get two items in the cart without having to add much to to total. The $60 off seemed to occur whenever there were two items in the cart.

Finally there was nothing mentioned about the -$60 or the trampoline in neither the email nor the order status page on toysrus.com

I called a second time and said the same thing. Just to see what a different representative would say and I pretty much got the same reply. He said the reason it's still Processing is because it was a big order through Paypal, and that right now it's simply going through "the verification process".

It's hilarious that even when I've mentioned to two different people now how $60.00 was taken off the total for the trampoline thing, they both just say "I don't see anything about it" and fail to notice the price difference. Despite the fact that I'm pretty much telling them something is wrong, lol. I only mentioned it because honestly I'd rather be charged and the order ship in full than have it all canceled just to save the $60.00.

Well, 5 out of my seven orders had been cancelled. I called them up to see what is the status of my other two orders (Two ps2 games), and they said it is in "In stock" status, which meant that it was ready to ship...

Who knows, they might actually ship them : O

No clue, though the first CSR I talked to sounded like she was from the south, the second sounded like he had a neutral american accent, the third sounded... maybe like a north eastern american accent. Though I've heard that the better... telemarketing (wrong term, but you know what I mean) companies in India have intensive training to perfect American accents.

Well upon checking my order status on tru.com again, I found that the Halo Edition 360 console is priced $353.83 on my items list, yet it's still $399.99 on the site. I passed on this based on my past experience with them. I ordered a couple of cheap 360 games in the spring and used google checkout discount. They then cancelled my 1 item and I lost my discount. Well both my items are now shipped and my email was wrong
it said they charged me $70+ but on my credit card statement it was only $33.

So I called TRU about the two charges. I got a lady on the phone after a long time of holding. She said the charges were just pending and wouldn't go through. I told her they in fact were completed and have gone through. She actually looked at the case and then asked if I would go on hold. I was on hold for about 10 minutes and she came back and told me that "due to some system glitch...blah blah....we're going to have to charge you the full amount for the item that shipped, 19.99+ shipping". I told her that no, I did not authorize that amount, and would be contacting my CC about it and filing a charge back. She just kept saying "unfortunately, we're going to have to charge you for the item that shipped". Then she offered to transfer me to a supervisor. I was on hold for about 5 minutes and then finally hung up. I'm contacting paypal to file a dispute (I used a Paypal Secure Card).
