I don't own a PS3 yet and had some questions.
1) What's the storage (40G, 80G) used for mainly?
Can you back up your games to the hard disk?
2) What do you guys think of the 2 main people behind God of War 1 and 2 leaving?
Will God of War 3 bite?
Will this affect the PSP version?
Thanks!

I can answer these.
Some games (ie. Ratchet & Clank, Warhawk) install some data on the hard drive, it can always be deleted later.
Also, music and videos you import or videos and game downloads purchased from the PSN store. Also game saves. You can pretty much do anything with the hard drive. You can install Linux if you want too.

if you're going to use linux, remember you have to partition the hard drive, you have to set aside at least 10gb for linux.

God of War 3's just fine without the two guys that left. The rest of the team knows what to do.
God of War CoO's developed by a completely different team, so that game's unaffected.

1) anything.. music.. games.. demos.. trailers. Data you can back up. otherwise no.
2) GOW3 will still sell , regardless. The psp version will still do fine.

You can even rip your CDs onto the hard drive and play them from there.
Games also use the hard drive, both by install, and by dynamic caching to speed up load times in games. Of particular note is Uncharted, which has no load times save for the initial one when starting up a game.

I'm hoping that'll make GoW3 actually be good.
That's right, I said it.
