Will all of them allow you to play your UMD GAMES on your TV, because Ive heard it is HDMI cables only...

I'm pretty sure you need the Component Cables (5 plugs) to play games on the TV.
The Composite Cables (3 plugs) will allow you to watch UMD movies on your TV, but not play games.

While technically neat, is there any point to playing your PSP games on a big-screen TV? It seems like it'd be an awkward setup with the 8ft wire coming out of the back of the set only to show what you're already seeing on the smaller screen.
Seems like it'd be great if you set up a kiosk in a store to show off people playing a game (draw a crowd). I can't see it being handy, otherwise.
I think I'll prefer playing my PSP games while at home on a TV rather than staring down at the PSP.

Check your local Target stores for these cables. I found them on clearance for $9.98

If you go to Target (as mentioned in another thread) look along the outward facing end-caps to find your clearance items. (the end-caps facing the outer perimeter of the store. I saw both cables (composite/component) there for $9.98/ea.

What's sound like a great concept for tv out, turns out to be a total dud. On all file formats expect video games they upscale to your TV. So expect your video images to crop down. You can use other alternative programs like custom firmware remotejoy to display images on your computer.
Video images crop down? Can you be more specific? As long as the image looks ok and is twice the size of the PSP's screen I will be more than happy.

All media formats except video games such as internet, psp menu or watching movies, the images will get upscaled to your tv, as result displaying the images in full screen. But when it comes to play your psp games, they don't upscale the full image to your tv. Instead it displays your psp games at the original resolution of the PSP screen 480x272. If you have a big screen tv, you will have lots of black borders.

Doesn't look bad at all in the video. Could be better but I'd rather have the graphics look good smaller than all grainy at full TV size. It's still a good ten times larger than the PSP screen.

Wow - I was just about to write: My God that guy is annoying as Chris Pirillo from Call For Help back in the last days of TechTV.
Then I saw the 'live.pirillo.com'.
He's the Jerry Lewis of the tech world.
I wonder, if when playing a game, if it's at 480p or 480i if you can zoom in using the TV function to get the full-screen effect. Kind of dumb, but if it works...

Everything but games can be run with composite, s-video, or component cables at 480i or 480p and will be fullscreen. Games only run with component cables at 480p and are surrounded with black bars to keep their original 480x272 resolution (instead of 480p's 640x480 resolution). The PSP does not support HDMI.

Well, if that's the case then you could use the zoom on your TV and blow it up full-screen for games and everything will be properly proportioned.
It's not going to look PS3-great but, if you want it on the big screen, that'll fill it up.

Ok, I need to buy component cables, because you cant play games on your tv with composit?
