To coincide with the Spike TV Videogame Awards (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8522556&publicUserId=4561231), in which Don King was a presenter, 2K Games announced its brand new boxing game Don King Presents: Prizefighter (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3164831). Slated to hit the 360, DS, and Wii (and possibly others, though 2K's not saying) in the spring of 2008, Prizefighter is said to provide the deepest boxing experience yet with a documentary-style approach to its presentation. More so than any other boxing game before it, the attempt is to deliver an in-depth career mode, with all the obstacles that face a real boxer -- which is where the legendary boxing promoter's expertise comes in.

We'll have to wait to see exactly what 2K and Don King's take on boxing games will play like, but it's also worth noting that Prizefighter is being developed by 2K's UK-based Venom Games studio, the guys behind the Rocky games for PS2 and Xbox.

We'll actually be back more on the game soon -- including an exclusive first interview with the man himself, Don King -- so stay tuned!
Could be interesting.

Or they've been working on it in secret for awhile now.

Some boxer let it slip that this game was in development a few weeks/months? back. I thought he was gonna be on the cover, but I guess they got Don King.

I hope the game is good. But Im kinda disgusted by them putting King on the cover. Don King is a scumbag, and a cancer to boxing.

Its gonna be hard to beat Fight Nights dual analog stick punch control...

Oh well, competition is always good.

It's gonna be tough trying to top Victorious Boxers Revolution on the Wii.

I'm no fan of Don King, and I'd almost hate if the game caught on, and he had a new game out yearly, only because we'd have to hear about how Don King makes the game great.

Really, this also reminds me of that horrible boxing game on the Sega CD "Prize Fighter", back when the games were live action.

no interest in the game, because it'll probably suck, but Don King's inclusion is legit.

I know this game is going to be good. I'd still like to have Mike Tyson in the game. I don't know what EA has against Iron Mike, even though he had problems, he's still a legend imo.
