It depends on the store. Here in Las Vegas, only two stores, out of about ten or so, offer cash for trade-ins.

In addition, bonus offers don't apply when you trade for cash and you actually will lose 20% of regular trade value for cash trades.

If your really worried about whether or not this stacks with the 10% Edge Card, follow these steps:

1) Present the game your trading in to the cashier

2) Give he/she the Edge card first and let them scan it

3) Then give he/she this Coupon

Not true - they just have to look it up on the computer. So if you do as whoknows suggests and put them in 2 seperate cases they should treat them as separate games. YMMV though as they may be aware it is from the pack-in games and not accept them or something. But I traded my LoZ PH (getting $28 as paddlefoot says above) with the coupon last time cart-only (thus no bar code) and they had no problem with that.

I'll have to see if I can scrounge another Halo 3 from a local Blockbuster to see if I can transfer more credit from Blockbuster to EB/GS...

Assassins Creed = 30 + 12 assuming you have an edge card.
Motorstorm ? no idea of it's value.. Disc and case says not for resale dont know if they will hassle you or not... I've been thinking of trading mine at Gamerush/Blockbuster they give $30.

Not sure about everyone else, but I'm only trading in Cart/Disc only games... Nothing too valuable and I'm sure eBayers/CAGers wouldn't want to pay more than what EB/GS is giving me. If Halo 3 is back up to $35 base then that is $49 after bonuses... what CAG would pay $49 for a used Halo 3 when you can get a brand new LE from Amazon for $49.99? And that's not even getting into shipping, packaging, standing in line at the Post Office (nasty during the holiday season), etc.

The point about "some kid" is also ridiculous. Look around at all the GS deal & coupon threads in this forum. Plenty of "fellow gamers", CAGs included, buy games at GS. I buy games there (and I've made hundreds of dollars off of them this year too, thanks GS!)

There are plenty of deals to be had and plenty of reasons to deal with GS once you get beyond the "GS is evil and only wants to screw people" mentality.

I would sell on Ebay or CAG if it wasn't for the 30% trade in coupon and the 10% off coupon. Using both of those makes it a better deal then trying to sell it and have the hassle of shipping and other things involved.

Anyhoo... You have to have some valid ID with you, but I've seen some young teens (probably 12-14, definately under 16) trade in stuff after showing their military dependant IDs.


EDIT: now that I think about it, I remember them being accompanied by their father (a real master chief, in his uniform no less), so this may have played a part. He was not at the register with his kids, but within view of the cashier. They didn't point him out, but I guess the cashier saw the chief, the military IDs, and put two and two together.

According to the company policy, they aren't supposed to take it unopened at all (even if you open it in front of the cashier). It's supposed to keep as much stolen merchandise from being traded in (you know, the stuff stolen from all the Wallyworlds, Targets and such)

Got $49 for Halo 3 tonight - used it to transfer some of my Blockbuster credit (cost there for a used Halo 3 = $44.99) to a more useful store ;). Actually, I did 2 copies (to 2 different GS stores) and plan to do one more tomorrow. A couple of Blockbusters I went to had 6 or 7 copies - I just had to look through a few to find the ones that weren't scratched up rental fodder (the ones I did end up trading were near mint and complete, so GS should be happy).

Seriously.? That's the best excuse he had? Even after I watched 3 people pay for purchases using the credit card terminal.... So to avoid him loosing some teeth, I just left.

Went 10 minutes to the other GameStop, the cashier there took my trade and coupon with no problem; didn't even ask me where I got it from. He just entered the code and gave me my store credit.

Indeed. Not a big fan of trading stuff into GS/EB, but hell, when they have deals like these, it's not too bad. I mean, I walked away with $33.60 for Madden 08. How much could I have gotten on Craigslist? $40? $45? I obviously would have gotten more, but who knows how long it would have taken to get someone to bite. And I'm not a huge fan of auction sites, because after you factor in shipping, people really aren't looking to spend that much on used games.

With the exception of Bioshock (and maybe MP3, no clue on the trade in price), all the other games you listed get you almost full price at EB with this trade in deal. Factor in any deals you got when buying those games (since this is CAG I'm guessing many didn't pay full price for these to begin with) and you are just about breaking even. I agree that getting $17 for Bioshock isn't great, though with some of the deals on it lately, it's not exactly terrible since that's ~$25 with coupon and edge.

I got lucky today and found three Halo 3 games lurking at two different Blockbusters. After getting one of the H3 games, I converted it over into a couple Beowolf games (X360) at Gamestop to go back and get Maximum Blockbuster credit so I could grab the last of the Halos :)

After all was said and done, I have ramped up my credit at Gamestop to around $380 over the past two to three weeks. If I decide to convert this back into Blockbuster store credit by doing more flipping I can see that $380 easily turning into $700 to $750. . .

That's just amazing. This all started with probably under $200 invested. . .
