Actually, this is the first DotD I've bought since near the very beginning.

I bought 3 copies because the Buy 2 Get 1 free on Petz games is still going on (I missed it with the $9.99 Pet Catz 2 which I'm pissed about). One copy will be for my daughter, 1 for my neice and 1 either to eBay to get some of the money back or possibly to one of my daughter's friends if she wants to give it to her. I'll find a use for it, anyway. With free shipping my total for 3 copies was $29.98. They are pushing it with that crappy-assed free shipping though. They estimate the ship date to be Dec. 17th with delivery on the 24th! No biggie, I wasn't about to pay for faster shipping...

Hey buddy, not everyone who shops for video games at Christmas time is of the CAG demographic. There are these things called kids you know ;). I mean when I was in college the NES and SNES were kiddie toys so I didn't touch the damn things - how many CAGs have fond memories of those kidZ toys? :lol:

If more people knew about the B2G1 I'd bet this would go OOS soon. The Pet Catz one did and I missed out on it (then it came back briefly and a BUNCH of CAGs bought 3 copies for the same reason I got this one) and then Amazon bumped it to $19.99 because of the demand! We'll see what happens with this one priced in the middle there...

I know some people find this shocking, but various animalz titles are big sellers to the kiddie crowd.

Though my bad eyesite makes me do a double take when I see Horsez.
Which also reminds me, that cag'er with the beastiality sig tag needs to loose it.

Of course, there are no reviews on this (figures, the games you actually NEED reviews for don't have them :roll:). I tried to look quickly before I bought it to be sure there wasn't a reason this was the DotD so soon after release. But there are reviews up for Pet Dogz and Catz on IGN. They actually aren't horrible (6.8 and 6.7). I mean they aren't going to win any awards, but they are good for what they are. And IGN just gave the Puzzle de Harvest Moon game a 3.5 for comparison...

Yeah, I got the first one used from GC for my daughter and she didn't play it much. I'm hoping she likes this one better. Going off the Petz Catz 2 review, which IGN said was greatly improved over the first one (you can earn ribbonz! :lol:) I'm hoping it is better. I can't imagine it is any worse, and, as you say, the first is decent. I won't have any impressions until after Christmas at the earliest (assuming the Super Saver shipping even gets it here by then).

Edit: And JUST like the Petz Catz 2 game, this is now OOS (available for $29.99 via Target instead of $14.99 from Amazon). But just like that one, I'm sure it will be back later (it is 2AM Pacific now). So I guess they sold more than 3 copies ;).

io - you should really think about joining an Amazon prime group. I even organized my group and it was still insanely easy, and gives you a year of prime for about ~$16, which on the one hand is more than $0, but on the other it's very nice to get things so quickly and never worry about a minimum price.

Slightly off-topic, but still related... I wonder what the trade-in value is for Petz Hamsterz 2 at Gamestop? Perhaps with the 30% trade-in bonus I could trade the extras in for a small profit and reduce the cost further? What's the typical trade-in value for a $29.99 game at Gamestop?
