Years ago I tried IGN to input what titles I had and track them, but never completed it. Is there a better website out there now? I feel so overwhelmed with games sometimes that I have recently purchased games that I already have. Maybe a site with the most cover scans of the games and an area to have notes or options to show if the games are complete or not and what's included and missing? Thanx for any suggestions.

Years ago, IGN's collection system used to be the best, the most intuitive, and the easiest to use. Since the redesign though, it now sucks. It's horrible and the ease of use went out the window. I have no clue anymore what is the best DB for video games. I stopped really keeping track since the demise of IGN where i had most of my games up. The same thing happened to DVDafficianado (sp). They updated the site wihtout having an opt out system to revert back to the old layout, like what IMDB has, and now I simply can't use the site and don't care for it. I haven't found optimal replacements for either.
I still keep my IGN list updated (in the sig) but I agree with hiccup; it was way better before the change.

Thanx maybe I'll stay away from IGN. VGrebirth.org looks pretty good, I might join. Anyone else know of another site?

I have my list up on IGN at this time which works just fine for me. Was curious seeing I may have joined after the change with IGN seeing I never saw a change, what was it like before?

I used to use IGN as well but after they changed games kept randomly disappearing off the list after I recently added them. Right now I just keep a list of my games in a spreadsheet; I've been doing that since before I stopped using IGN.
I also used Gamespot for a little while, but their interface takes too long to add a lot of games.

I still like VGR the best, but spreadsheets and stuff work great too. VGR is cool cus it shows the foreign alternates of games, kind of cool to look at sometimes.
www.rfgeneration.com is my favorite.

Microsoft Access FTW?
I never liked the idea of putting my collection on any of the current websites, since they are put in a proprietary format.
If there was a website that could export my database into .xml or something, then that would be sweet.

Tried rfgeneration and it seems to be the best. It's hard to tell what's in your collection and wishlist on IGN and their isn't a print option that I can see. RF generation may be the one...

MS Access for me. Like the idea of my data staying separate while I redesign the layouts or reports.

GameTZ.com is a good website to keep track. It is mainly a trading site but if you put games in your "collection" instead of "available," people will know the items are not for trade.

GameTZ looks good too. But is there a way to print out your Collection/Want lists?

It isn't a website but a program, and isn't free, but I use Collectorz.
http://www.collectorz.com/
They have ones for different collections, like movies, books, comics, cds.
Tons of options like a built in loan tracker and can export your collection to multiple formats.
It pulls all information and covers from amazon and thier own database. All you have to enter is the name or even scan the barcode if you have a barcode scanner or a cuecat or whatever they were called.
They have free limited demos.
